Yes, I do think so. I think they should be allowed to get married and be entitled to all the same benefits of marriage that a straight couple has. If our government cannot, for whatever reason, make gay marriages legal, then at the very least, they should offer protection of them. You yourself opened my eyes to this when you discussed the problems that you and your partner have run into.

I think you have the same rights as I do. I think you should have the right for one simple reason cause you can. If your in love and are going to spend the rest of your life with them anyways why not have the title too.. I feel f--k the goverement that say you can't and anyone else that say you can't too.Who are they anyways? It's funny that so many poeple get pissed off that gays and lesbians want to get married. I'm straight. I think People don't even know how it is for you. who am I to judge you, better yet who the f--k are they. you should be able do what you want and when you want. I commend you and people like you for trying and fighting for what you beleive in. No, not gays and lesbians. I think any life partners should be offered that, and they are. You need to talk to an attorney, and find out how to go about the process. Usually it is no more than filling out a few forms. If you are talking about offering insurance and those kinds of things through employment, many companies are now doing it, without government interference. But since I could not get insurance for my husband or step children through my last job(it was not offered), I would be pretty upset if others got it for their partners because they were gay. Equal rights are one thing, special rights are another.

I see your plight. I have a good family friend who is gay. And he is good in many more than I can count ways. I am very religious and not gay. yet we understand each other well.

Now to the law --even my gay friend has voted against changing it (although it hurts him) Why? Because it does open doors to others who would push their way in (very bad others) It is Sad but True. To close our eyes to the possibilities because our own selfish but satisfying agenda is wrong. I hope you are both educated enough to understand the issues involved-whether you like it or not. Many will say discrimination if your rights are allowed and theirs are not. And this could effect others in a bad way.

The law is provided for the purpose of protecting us and punishing wrong doing. "Fear those who have the sword" is a scripture verse. Therefore, the law should never make legal what God has declared to be wrong (fornication) and is dangerous for the participants. The law is designed to help and not hurt society. Those doing wrong should not be given help to support them in their wrong doing. From a charitable standpoint, religion should help all persons needing help including those suffering from aids or other illnesses. The question suggests that it is the law that protects. However, the law is not to protect evil but to stop evil and protect innocents.

I think gay people are no different than other people around the world. My mom is gay and i think that she should be with whoever she wants to be with. Also, getting the rights they need. There are so many other problem in the world tat we need to deal with, other than whether gay and lesbian people getting there rights. the government can get over it and help people that really need help.

personally I am conflicted on the idea of gay marriage but the concept that two people regardless of why should be allowed to form legal contract IE (civil union) I have no problems with and I fully support. Anything short would be discriminatory and simply silly not to do.

I don't look at it as a religious issue I look at it as a social/civil rights issue. Marriage should be equal for everyone regardless of which gender you choose to marry. Anything less is a type of discrimination.

I think everyone should be afforded the same rights regardless of their race/religion or sexual orientation. Do I think gays and lesbians should get any special treatment or legislation..no, but they shouldnt be discriminated against either.
