Here's a great saying: "We are not humans having a spiritual experience, but we are spirits having a human experience..."
Is this the right place to ask about fine cutlery sets?? Like chef's knives, etc.?
I'd like to know: [1] Some choices of name BRANDS of kitchen knives that would be a good gift for a Chef? [2] What price range would they be? And [3] what makes a complete set of chef's knives?
Thanks for your input!

I just got this email from my sister-in-law today:
We Need a Leader Like this!!!
Picture (Device Independent Bitmap)
Prime Minister John Howard - Australia
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.
A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia and her Queen at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his Ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown. Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament. "If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you", he said on National Television
"I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia : one the Australian law and another Islamic law that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option", Costello said.
Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off. Basically people who don't want to be Australians, and who don't want, to live by Australian values and understand them, well then, they can basically clear off", he said.
Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians."
"However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the 'politically correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia .." "However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand." "This idea of Australia being a multi-cultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. And as Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle."
"This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom"
"We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!"
"Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture."
"We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us."
"If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like "A Fair Go", then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means, keep your culture, but do not force it on others.
"This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom,
'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'."
"If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted."
Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, American citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths.
If you agree please SEND THIS ON . .. . .

"Norma McCorvey, the plaintiff in Roe v. Wade, never actually got an abortion. She'd long since put the kid up for adoption when the Supreme Court ruled in her favor. She later became a pro-lifer!" *
I honestly didn't know that until just now...
Your comments please?

20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoALL Biblical scholars WELCOME: A 2-part question on Matthew 26:13??
In the KJV of the Holy Bible, it goes:
"Verily I say unto you, Whosoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this WOMAN had done, be told for a memorial of her..." --Matt 26:13. [emphasis added]
1. WHO is this woman? and,
2. Why is this commandment/order of Jesus NOT being OBEYED *by those who preach* and cite the Bible/Gospels ALL THE TIME???
* * * * * * *
Sorry, you may have to read other verses to determine who it is... if you are so inclined. I'm just curious to see the responses here. Thanks for your input!
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat is the maximum lifespan of commercially made toppings [chocolate, strawberry and butter scotch]??
I found some of these toppings in unopened gift packages of Christmases past that are still contained in their original, sealed jars with no visible signs of spoilage, i.e., the lids on their tops are still in the "depressed" state as opposed to the "bubbled" state once they are opened.
Not sure how old they are, but now I'm REALLY CURIOUS as to HOW LONG THESE bottled things WOULD LAST before they get spoiled and are no longer edible or fit for human consumption??
Thanks for your info.
1 AnswerCooking & Recipes1 decade agoETHICAL Q: [2-part] Say you're the E.R. doctor in a TRIAGE situation...??
And there are two patients in very critical condition between Life and Death. Do you:

B.] Save the one who has a chance of living?
Support your response in either case.
[2] Now, suppose they are BOTH RELATED to you, do you save:
[D] Your sibling [brother or sister]?; or
[E] Your own child?
Support your response in either case.
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHave you heard some jokes from that Muslim stand-up comedian?
Here's some of them:
----------------------------
Good evening gentlemen... and get out, ladies.
On my flight to New York there must have been an Israeli in the bathroom the entire time. There was a sign on the door that said "Occupied."
How many Palestinians does it take to change a light bulb? None!
They sit in the dark forever and blame the Jews for it!
What do you call a first-time offender in Saudi Arabia?
Lefty!
Did you hear about the Muslim strip club?
It features full facial nudity!
Why do Palestenians find it convenient to live on the West Bank?
Because it's just a stone's throw away from Israel...
...And finally:
Heard from a Palestenian girl who says to her mommy:
"After Abdul blows himself up, can I have his room?"
------------------------------
Haha.
It's all in jest, Omar, so... Okay, your turn.
Peace be with you!
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoOPEN TO ALL: Let's try something different, shall we?
Rather than bash the next person's religion or church, kindly do these 3 things here:
1.] Briefly SHARE YOUR OWN PERSONAL CREED, beliefs or moral code here WITHOUT the need to MENTION as to what other groups may or may not do in theirs;
2.] Mention the church that you belong to, or the philosophical ideology/ies that you follow now; and
3] Rate yourself from 1-10 [10 being best] as to how close you are in adhering to your own CREED at this stage of your life.
Thanks for all your responses.
Peace be with you!
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoName ONLY THREE instances in the Bible that you would have liked to be a witness to?
For me, they would be:
1] LISTENING to God sing [Deut. 31:19-22 and Psalms 95:8-11];
2] WATCHING Jesus raise Lazarus from his grave; and
3] VIEWING all of the Book of Revelations on a big screen TV.
How about you?
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoHahaha! Is it me or is it getting TOO HOT for some people down here???
Apparently, some YAHOO[!] does not like the responses and/or queries being posted in our favorite section here, folks... And this "enlightened" individual has unilaterally decided to do a UNIVERSAL REPORT ABUSE on each and every one of us.
Notice the "0" answers for the most recent questions... We've been snookered in a GRAND SLAM sort of way!! Hahaha!
Peace be with all of you!
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoWhat are the major divisions found in Neo-Paganism and what are their respective beliefs?
I'd like to better understand the connections and organizational structures between today's [various?] forms of Paganism vs. other 'Old World' religions including Shamnism, Animism, etc.??
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoFence-sitters: What was/is the last straw...??
...that made you decide to depart from the religion of your fathers, or the one you were taught as a child? Name a specific incident or the final straw that led you to what you stand for now?
Follow-up: Name the opening salvo that attracted you to the "group" that you belong to now. And please try to be brief and non-combatant. Thanks!
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoIs Neo-Paganism a subset of Primal-indigenous religion? How so?
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoTell me how you interpret the following verses from the Book of Job, Ch. 41:19,...KJV [see details below]:?
"Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or cauldron. His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth..."
Apparently these are God's words to Job as He described the "leviathan", which also presumably could be domesticated by man.
Let's see you come up with another symbolic significance out of that, other than a fire-breathing dragon?? LOL.
I mean no disrespect, but let's face it: if it's so written then so it IS! If you believe in the Bible then you must believe in this, too, shouldn't you? It's irrelevant whether or not I believe in it... my question to Bible thumpers is: DO YOU BELIEVE IN IT THEN??
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoWhy don't most people believe that were were giants, dinosaurs, unicorns, etc. when it is so WRITTEN??
This is an addendum to an earlier question I raised about the fire-breathing dragon(s) [behemoth] and the Loch Ness monster [leviathan] found in the Book of Job? And supposedly those were quoted from God's own words?
Moses wrote about the giants [Numbers] and again mentioned in Kings/Samuel during David's time... And David's Psalms mentions about unicorns.
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoIf you are a true believer of the Bible [KJV] then you must believe in giants, unicorns, dinosaurs, satyrs, etc
And the fire-breathing dragon [behemoth], and the Loch Ness monster [leviathan], and flying serpents... these are all written in the OT: Numbers, Job, and Psalms to name a few.
How do you explain what Ezekiel wrote in Chapter 1:1 of his book? --granting that this was an ancient man with limited words to describe what it was that he saw: a "wheel inside a wheel"?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoWhy would the Roman Catholic Church need their own observatory? To be the first to see the second coming??????
This is the same group that excommunicated Galileo for his scientific theories and only recently "un-excommunicated" him. And I won't be surprised if there will be a Saint Galileo in the near future either... maybe to replace the ones that have been removed from their roster, like Christopher to name one of several.
