Why doesn't Purina (or somebody who makes pet food) make a mouse-flavored cat food?

Hmmmm, interesting question....I never thought of that. However, I'm not sure it the taste of a mouse that a cat likes, I think it's the hunt and catch game. But then again, you never know...I've seen plenty of cats eat a mouse after they kill it.

The cat food they like best has cat drugs in it. It costs like $25 for a tiny can, they will LOVE it but then they won't eat anything else. If they get hungry they will sometimes eat Trader Joes tuna for cats for 30 cents a can. Buy them all they want to get them off of the cat drugs.

because they don't want to eat a mouse first to see what it tastes like. also, maybe in cat food they actually have some fish in fish flavor cat food, etc. how would they get the mice to put in mice flavor cat food?

Actually beef isn't any good for them but mice are prey when there is nothing else to eat. That is just what is out there in the wild. They will eat most anything that is small and they can catch. We feed them all of these parts of the animals that are left over from cutting up our meat.

By the way, I don't eat meat.

Because people don't eat mice! The whole cat food thing is based on advertising. Cats can't read we can. We buy food that sound appealing to us! Fish, (cats don't fish) lamb, beef, liver, turkey, chicken, all things people eat. that is why the commercials show them eating out of champagne glasses and lying on satin pillows. Its all in our perception of what our cats and dogs deserve.

You answered your own question. Cats don't eat mice because the love the flavor, but because it is prey they can catch.

you know when you eat like alligator, kangaroo all that kinda stuff and people say it tastes like chicken, i bet the same as a mouse

My cats would probably love it, but I would never buy it. It's just to gross to think about.
