What is the meaning of life?

This one gets asked a _lot_, but I think it's relevance persists.

And I'm not looking for the answer "42" either.

    Aw, but 42's such a simple answer to give.

    Think about it, how could we, as lowly humans, understand things like that, things completely beyond our understanding.

    As far as I am concerned we are here simply because evolution made us so that we could survive in this world, and thus the meaning is to keep our species going by reproducing.

    You can see why Douglas Adams resorted to using a number.

    You should watch the educational film. Monty Python and the Meaning of Life. It thoroughly discusses the issue. It describes in detail the meaning of every stage in life from birth to death. Enjoy.

    Knowing, understanding, experiencing, perceiving, realising and if possible getting enlightened from the period you think as you strated existing till you realise you don't exist anymore.
