Why would you use chick feed for litter? Are you thinking about the corn husk litter? World's Best is one of them. It is not chick feed and should not be used or considered as such.
I tried the corn litter, and it has the advantage of being able to flush it down the toilet, but this can cause clogs in your plumbing, so I don't think it's worth it. Plus, I have 3 cats, so even one day's worth of cat litter made a big mess in the toilet.
Other options for environmentally friendly litter are made out of newspaper, one brand being Yesterday's News. This is recycled newspaper. It doesn't clump, but it is very good, and works well for most cats. It's not good if you have a white cat, because the newsprint can dirty their feet and this can look bad on a white cat.
I just use generic, cheap as possible, unscented clumping litter for most of my litter boxes. I have one special cat, who requires special litter, and I use Dr Elsey's Cat Attract litter in her special box. You can read about it here: http://www.preciouscat.com/WebPages/catattract.htm...
Hope that helps.

I've used World's Best because of the fact you get soooo much for such a good price. It works just as well as the next and when you have several cats, price and quality is what matters!
