Do you think federal dollars should be used for stem-cell research?
Its not that I don't have a clear understanding of the issue. I think that it really doesn't matter whether or not its specified for one or the other, either you are for it or you aren't. I see no gray matter here.
I don't think tax paying dollars should be spent on theories. Whats the last major thing that was cured? Polio? (Joking, I am sure there have been others since then).
I just think there are things that deserve tax paying money more than stem cells.

Yes to a certain extent, and they already are.
Oh, and by the way. When President Bush entered office. He
raised the amount of money being spent on stem-cell
research to more than the amount being spent on it when Clinton
was in office.

You did not specify "adult" or "embryonic" stem cell research. This leads me to believe that you do not have a clear understanding of the issue. I have no problem with adult stem cell research. Embryonic stem cell research, on the other hand would rely on harvesting parts from unborn fetuses. If federal dollars went to this particular research it could promote a new windfall "business". Unfortunately there are some who would see a value to themselves in producing these embryos in their own bodies for the right amount of money. Uncle Sam has been known to spend $7000.00 on a screw driver for military use. What would an unborn baby bring?

Yes, because Stem Cell Technology can be the answer to those who suffer cancerous disease, AIDS, or any disease involving cells. But as usual, all technology is just like a two faced coin. They can be abusive in the wrong hands.
As you can see, in lab research of stem cell technology, they can grow feet in an ant at the place where it suppose to be the antenna. So in the wrong hands, this technology can be used for a completely wrong purpose. I read about this in a book titled "The Science of Harry Potter" by Roger Highfield. So, it is all about morality, not about the science itself.
Remember this:

Not for embryonic research. Adult stem cell research has actually brought forth some cures and advances in medicine, but the embryonic research has not. Adult stem cell research has actually gotten more funding approved by Bush than his predecessor. I vote we keep funding what has been proved to work.

Federal Dollars should be used to research and finding cure for disease states. This is a loop that will provide more health and more income while lowering the expenses on other non effective treatments. Read more at http://www.wiseorb.com/articles-review-472-T-Stem_...

Yes. They use federal dollars to run prisons, and then to do executions. We need the money for this important, life saving reserch. Or maybe a study of seals in the actic is more important.

Most defanently. The embryos everyone gets all up in arms about are going to be thrown out anyway, so me might as well use them to save some lives.
