Christianity--Atheism who do you think are the most arrogant?

From reading Q&A's lately it seems as though there is an ongoing battle between them to prove themselves superior.

I myself am a christian but I do not try to prove atheist are inferior. What do you think?

I think, arrogance is a common element in human personality that comes along with the sinful and corrupted human nature inherited from Adam. However, I think that Christians are held more accountable for this, since they (we) DO have the chance and the power (of Jesus) to walk not according to the old man, i.e. fashioning them selves according to the former manner, but put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. So, in principle, I would say that we Christians are more arrogant because we practically give into it, while atheists do not really have the chance not to. Our Lord Jesus never showed the spirit of superiority ("hollier than you", "better than you", "smarter then you", atc.) to anyone, although He was the only one who had the right to do it.

(Ephesians 4:22-25) That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

I took a Bible as Literature course for fun. It was pretty good course. I'm not sure what I am, but I don't take the bible literally. It's easy for atheists to down Christianity. Seriously, we (I'm Catholic according to my dog-tags) worship a book where god appears as burning brush, turns sticks into snakes, commands the angel of death to murder millions of Egyptians, there's a huge flood somewhere in there, walking on water, rising from the dead, more murder and an apple that created sin. Good stuff.

I guess it's good that most atheists haven't read the bible, and instead mumble rants about evolution.

Christians can be even more annoying. Quick to damn the nonbelievers. They would send them to hell if they could. They scream, "Faith is blind!" and then show us (again undecided here) why, with endless preaching, and quotes from the bible. Everything is god's will. Everything happens for a reason. Murder is a ticket to hell. Murderers must pay. War is OK. Abortion is a huge no.no. Global warming doesn't exist, because god wouldn't do that to us. The world is going to end: natural disasters, war, the mark, the worldwide currency, the plagues, rivers will flow red with blood... 7 Years of Tribulation is upon us. Prepare to be judged. FIND GOD.

I think it's all good. As long as people can remain civil, which is kind of impossible when dealing with religion. Oh well. We all are fortunate enough to decide what we believe in, maybe it's the way god intended it, maybe not. If there is a god, he/she would be rip-**** that people use their beliefs to spark heated conversations and hurt feelings.

Both can be as bad as each other, because there are both Atheists and Christians on this site who behave arrogantly, and there are both Atheists and Christians who don't. I think it's more that there's a group of human beings "discussing" their beliefs - and there will be people from both sides that don't go about it in the right way.

Im not sinking that low....im just sticking with my gut on the fact that Judeao-Christian beliefs are correct.........honestly ISLAM (besides the leftist related hate speech) is more correct than athieism.

Well on a scale of arrogence.......? the leftist athiests, ignorant, intolerable, and of course WRONG (though not realized by most for some odd reason.)

I dont judge people.......but Y Answers has increasingly looked like a Neo-Fascist group where the libs/anti-Christians like to hang out.....

Neither. It depends on the person. Arrogance is a trait that can run in any belief system. Each person is different and should be looked at as an individual not generalized.

I think that since i live in the land of the free (freedom of religion, speech, ect) That no one has the right to infuriate anyone, I am a Christian myself, but also respect other peoples beliefs, by not preaching to them, they want a preacher...Everyone is welcomed to a church.

I am Christian (Catholic), and I give my opinions but I don't force my views on atheists or anyone else's. I do notice that a lot of the atheists I know are mainly negative or pessimistic people. It's their life, they choose how they want to live, or believe...just as long as they don't force their "non-existence" beliefs on me.

That is a tough one. It depends on the time of day I guess. A lot of people seem to use this place to vent frustrations instead of as a tool for learning.

Stop putting all the christians and all the athiest in one sterotype box. Each person is individually diffrent.

The ones with a holier-than-thou demeanour tend to be the ******** roosters, and, well, atheists aren't touting holiness and dieties ;)
