I'm a grandfather now but we made our own baby food right from the start. We own an electric rice/vegetable steamer that I have only ever used for rice - and that, only, because it's simply easier than watching a pot. We use a steamer on the stove. We have Paderno cookware and one of the bits has two steamer baskets that nest. One large, one small, so you put the small one on a smaller pot and can put the larger one on top for when you have just one more thing to cook. Anyway, the trick is less with the steaming but more ensuring the food is properly puréed. You need a "better" blender than steamer. Anyway, have a blast.

I have that steamer.
You should be able to get the instruction book by google-ing black and decker or googling the model number. I have found every owners manual that I ever lost by doing that on the net.
The instructions are too complicated to go into here. Try to get the manual if that don't work then contact me.

honey i usually use the old 1 cup of rice one cup of water if that doesnt work if your rice is not totally done add a little more water if it is to sticky use a little less water if you eat alot of rice i invested in a rice cooker it is great you can find them at tag sales yard sales thrift stores or new at walmart i got mine from my hawaiian kids and as you know they eat rice with every dish it comes with a cup and ladle you just add 3 cups of rice three cups of water close the lid wait 10 to 15 minutes and wall la its done you have enough four 5 to 7 people if you have any left over you just leave it in the cooker the light will already say keep warm and dinner the next night is already half prepared hope this was helpful
