No no no...I have been a personal trainer for many years and know the way to reach your goals.. First of all if your goal is to be able to do pushups then some people were correct with you need to do pushups! However the Agonist muscle you are using isnt your triceps or your biceps, there your Synergist muscles or muscles that assist the prime mover. Heck your anterior delts are your antagonist which oppose your agonist muscle or your chest. So to do pushups you need to strengthing your chest or your pecs. One person was right by saying do wall pushups. Also you can do pushups with your knees on a stability ball and progress till you get just your toes on the ball, it will get harder. Also try to do pushups on an inclined surface. For example do pushups on your feet with your hands shoulder width apart on a bar that is like 3 or 4 feet elevated and progress by putting the bar lower. Also in your concentric movement or the movement you push up on find were you are weakest and then do sets just in that plane of motion. good luck and best wishes!

Try an upright push-up! You stand in front of a wall, about 2-3 feet away, feet slightly apart. Place your hands on the wall, and push away from the wall while keeping in contact with the wall. It's basically a push-up standing up. Be sure to put all of your weight into your arms, just a tip. Good luck!

Your goal is to do push ups right. Then train by doing pushups. If you can not do one push up (so sad!!) then lay on your back put a few pounds on that bench press thingy next to the tricep machine and pump out as many as you can then each day before you do anything at all roll out of bed face first on the floor and pump one out. just to see if you made improvement.

1st of all,ur supose 2 go low enough so that if someone put their fist under u,u'd just barely touch it,does it hurt ur back a little when u do them,if so it could just b a spinal injury that prevents u from doing un-modified push-ups,if not my advice is 2 build up ur muscles in ur wrist(which actually r the muscles that do most of the work) by doing push-ups on ur knees, but with ur fists tight as a hammer, and do them on ur knuckles,do this for about 6months,and u should c a huge improvement, also never think u can't do it,always push urself 2 ur limit and u'll get it right eventually, lol trust me,i'm in karate and we do military style push-ups,lmao,i could barely do a standard push-up when i started, but i followed that advice and now i can do them one handed no problem. so good luck and never think u can't cuz u can.

i've found that weight training does not help you do push ups. the only way you can learn to do them is by doing them. you can start out on your knees and force yourself to go as low as you can go. start out with 10and move it up to 20 after a week, and so on. once you can do 50 on your knees, try doing 10 on your toes and increase that number each week the same way. good luck!

I think that doing bench presses, or a similar weight machine exercise, would help. Work up to a weight close to your bodyweight and you should be able to do at least one pushup.

well, you can start by drinking lots of juices, which provides energy, and work you way into a full push-up. go down lower n lower every time!
Good luck hun!

you can get on all fours and do pushups with your knees on the ground, after you've done that for a while u can try regular pushups.
