Have a few aches and pains here and there, and I have been thinking about purchasing one of these magnetic therepy bracelets, but would like to hear from any one who has tried them.

They "help" because magnets suppress symptoms by confusing afferent nerve signals (the nerves which bring messages to the brain and inform about the damaged area). The pain (which is the symptom of a problem) goes away, But the CAUSE remains and continues doing a lot of damage in your body. It's like clearing away the smoke, closing the door and letting the fire burn happily while pretending your house is perfectly safe because there is no smoke. That's how magnets work and that is why magnetotherapy is so popular - and so dangerous. People get what they want (no more pain) and don't care about the cause of their problem. After a while they get new symptoms because the cause is still there and got worse, but they don't realize the connection between the old symptoms, the magnets and the new ones.. Moreover, it has been proved by acupuncturists that magnets disturb the meridian energy - therefore the energy feeding all your organs, including the heart! I don't think you want to do that to yourself. Do you? Magnets are an alternative to painkillers, but unless someone has an incurable disease and wants to avoid taking strong painkillers or morphin, I would stay far away from magnets of any kind.

I tried some with the magnets in the shoe inserts. Didn't do a darn thing to help with foot pain. Oh well.

I am researching this for my son. What he finds it it depends what way up the bracelet is worn, and this is confirmed by what little I can find about the medical use of magnets

No, I have worn one for about a year, and I don't notice any difference. But the bracelet looks nice, so I keep wearing it.
