Can you believe people really do this to their animals????

Ok today i responded to an ad in the local paper about kittens needing a home...my best friend just had her cats stollen and i wanted to go and get her a new kitty to make her feel a little better...the lady that answered the phone said,"sure we can come and look at them, i'll go out in the shed and bring them in for you to look at." We live in florida, it is on average this time of year mid to upper 90s...the temp in the shed had to be atleast 100 +!!!! the door to the shed was shut!!!!! Instead of reporting her, i took the mother and all 5 of the kittens and now i'm going to raise them myself and find wonderful homes for them...she didn't even ask questions about me our my family, not even a question about me taken all of the cats....i just found this very sad that people think animals are desposable...oh, and by the way they are 5 weeks old and she had the ad in the paper and said they were ready to go..the mom wasen't even allowed to nurse them anymore...what do you think???

I am glad you took them in. If I lived closer, I would donate some kitty food to you to show my appreciation. Good luck, Hon!

I sure can believe it. I see it every day. People that don't take care of animals should never get them in the first place. I'm glad that the kitty family will now be taken care of properly and will find loving homes. I've adopted many animals over the years and I promise each one that I will always take care of them. I wish the best for you and them.

That was very kind of you to take them all. Bless you. Once the kittens are old enough, you will probably be able to find homes for them since they are still little and cute. You might want to keep mama cat and fix her. I am sure she would be forever grateful if you would show her that kindness. I hope she never has to suffer in a hot box again.

i love cats. i own one who is my buddy. you saved those kitties and their mom from dying in the heat. that is really cruel what the previous owner did to those cats. i would have reported her. you did the best thing for those kitties and their mother. a lot of cats don't have good homes to go to and are abused and /or neglected every day. the kitties were too young to be weaned off their mom. there should be more people like you out there. i would have taken the cat and kitties too if i faced a situation like that. good luck with those kitties. animals are not disposable, they need love as much as humans do. it makes me sick thinking about how people can be so cruel to animals.

I think these people like that are despicable characters...if theycan treat animals like that then they have no problem treating humans like that if I was you I would report her anyway....I live in New york city and run across a lot of animal abuse ,I am a staunch advocate for cats because people are under the stupid impression that theyhave no feelings,I have 6 thatI rescued and I wouldnt traed them for nuthin in the world >...God Bless you ,you are truly a go0d person with a good heart, keep up the good work

That's so sad! I think every single one of those people should go to prison! I mean, come on, animals are pretty much just like us but they're built different and have fur! It would be like abuseing another human being! I think you are a very caring person and will do great things when you grow up! It sounds like you did everything right but I think you should've reported her because she deserved that for what she did!

have you ever stopped to think that it may not have been her that let the cat in there

cats do have minds of their own when it comes to where their kittens will be raised a mother cat does not always stay in the place that you make available to her

but i am glad to hear that you have taken the action that you didand I am sure all the other people here agree with you choice of action

She was probably not doing any harm on purpose. Many owners are just ignorent. But that won't make the cats feel any better. You did a kind and noble thing. Good luck finding homes!

I wonder if you could still turn her in for Animal Cruelty? It's worth a shot!

Other than that, write a letter to the ASPCA or the LOCAL Animal Shelter about this woman's abuse of animals! Then at least they will have something on record for other future violations she might commit!

I'm glad you took them all.

Also, be picky about whom adopts them. Be suspecious about places that call wanting all the kittens. Some research agencies will do that to get lab animals. Me, I'm very picky whom I send my "babies" with. If something doesn't feel right, chances are it isn't.

As for the person whom had the cats, I'd report her. That's just wrong.
