Need a good garlic butter recipe?

Hi,

I am looking for a good garlic butter recipe for garlic bread. I was planning on using garlic powder with the butter, but not sure how much I should use.

Update:

I do have a jar of minced garlic that I'm using with the Lasagne so I guess I could use that.

Update 2:

Thanks for the info. I'm planning a nice romantic dinner for me and my girlfriend and I'm serving lasgane, garlic bread and vanilla ice cream.

    GARLIC BUTTER

    1 c. butter, softened

    6 cloves garlic, minced fine

    2 tbsp. finely minced parsley

    2 tbsp. onion, finely chopped

    1/2 tsp. pepper

Mix together. Can be frozen for later use. I freeze in 1/2 cup portions. Garlic butter can be used when making garlic bread and is delicious on rice.

    Garlic butter (and bread)

1 (1 pound) loaf unsliced French bread

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

    1/4 cup minced fresh parsley

2 large cloves fresh garlic, crushed and minced finely

    paprika

    PREPARATION:

Cut French bread loaf into 1-inch thick slices, but not quite all the way through. Combine butter, parsley, and garlic, stirring well; spread between bread slices. Sprinkle each slice with a little paprika, if desired.

    How to make garlic bread

Reassemble the loaf; wrap in aluminum foil. Bake at 350° for about 20 minutes.

Use about half to 3/4 a stick of butter (the real stuff) and crush two cloves of garlic, a sprinkle of garlic salt, pepper and about a tablespoon of ranch dressing mix (powder). Put it all in a small sauce pan over super low heat and let it all melt together. This is enough for a regular size loaf of french bread. It's the best!!

buy yourself some nice fresh garlic and chop it into really tiny pieces

buy some butter - light , salted - your choice ( i prefer salted, its nice for garlic bread )

heat your pan to medium, melt in as much butter as you want, dont let it burn. when its all in liquid form, pour in the garlic and cook until you smell the garlic. dont overcook .. fried garlic dont make nice garlic butter

then, pour it into a ceramic dish and let it cool down

    your garlic butter is ready

if you like chai/ spring onions ( add some ... the green colour makes it looks very nice )

To taste...Actually you can buy fresh garlic in large jars already chopped but make sure it's the garlic in olive oil.

if you just want plain old garlic butter your recipe sounds just fine. There's not much to it......the name garlic butter pretty much speaks for itself.

Try for garlic poweder that includes ONLY garlic. Good Luck

Just put some in and taste every so often.

Use real butter and real garlic for the best.

Only you taste can judge that. Start with a little, and keep adding if you have to. Make sure you keep the pan warm, not hot. Dont burn the butter. Add very thinly sliced shallots to make it really interesting.

For an average-size loaf, use 1 tablespoon as a starting reference. In the future, use more or less, depending on your preference.

never never never use anything but real garlic
