What does this mean?

I was reading the rules & guidelines to a Radio Station contest and the last one said this:

"The events, characters, and firms depicted in this promotion are fictitious. Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, or to actual events or firms is purely coincidental. "

What does this mean? The only things that comes to minds, is the fact that since this a Christian Radio Station any similarities to Biblical Characters is just an act.

its a Concert that will be taking place, what does this mean!?

Probably talking about the people and characters in the commercials and promotions for the event.

    Not the actual event.

It's all disclaimers. And they don't want a lawsuit if they use a name of an actual person on their commercial who didn't give permission to use it.

It's all about liability these days...ya know?

  • n The things such as 'events, characters (people, real or imaginary), and firms are not to represent 'so and so'. It is a disclaimer so protect a person/firm from liability for a potential resemblance to someone or something else; thus creating a 'potential' image (like or unliked).
