How long would a "day" be to an entity as omnipotent as GOD?
If one wants to be politically correct and believe "the Big Bang;" “the Theory of Evolution" and the "Holy Scriptures of the Quoran and the Bible." Consider if you will, the first six days of creation equal to the Big Bang and Darwin's theory of Evolution; estimating that the Sun is over 4 Billion years old; Dinosaurs inhabited this very same planet over 65 Million years ago, and evolved into the animals and birds that exist today; Genesis documents these things during days three and four; the next two days used for the evolution of man, to the extent that we now can ask the questions we do; then on the seventh day "he rested."
If all of this took place in six days, ho long is one day to such an entity?
Let us not quible about the spin of the earth, and consider that an entire universe was created during the same period of time; how long would each of those days be in perception to MAN's time?
I ask this question of those who are well versed in Mathematics, and Theory; I ask not that those of you who do not have a more open mind to conceive of such a thing as a GOD, or an entity that may have caused the creation of the known universe.
Someone out there must have given some real thought to such a concept as the length of time it would have take to do what is described in Genesis, given the length of time the Solar System we live in has been around. More importantly, than why was all this done? is, how was all this done? If described as six days for such a creation, how ling was the time between the day and the night of each day being one of "HIS" days. If the word "Day" seem to through you, then lets call it "Period." On the seventh period he rested, how long would that period last?

I will restrict my answer to the definition of omnipotent which means "all powerful". Q in Star Trek suggested that if the constants of the universe were inconvenient, that one can merely "change them". I will neither affirm nor deny here whether such god or godlike beings can exist.

a day as we know it is determined by the time it takes the earth to rotate once on its axis. a day on any other planet would be different. if the god of the bible exists then he/she/it is larger than our planet. than our solar system, galaxy, universe, etc. There are no days for such a thing. The only rational way we can think of a day as far as the creation story is a day as we know it on earth. The only reason it would be different is if he made the earth spin slower or faster on its axis during the creation process, which if he/she/it exists would definitely be possible, but still directly correlated to earth.

I have always believed that various religions beliefs and scientific reasoning don't have to be diametrically opposed like some people seem to.
I don't believe Genesis was meant to be a science report where God details the steps he used to form the universe and evolve all the various life forms. I think the word "day" was used as a convenient word to stand for an indeterminate length of time.

Techncally, a day is relative to what planet you are on. A day is essentially how long it takes your planet to rotate through a full 360 degrees. It is possible for a planets day (rotation period) to be longer than its year (the time it takes to complete a full orbit).

well, i'd like to mention that, before sun creation, the day (by definition) didn't exsist :)
anyway, if you meant our usual Earth day (with our usual earth Hours) then you really have to go through complex accurate calculations.
i am not very religious, but if it said there it was six days, then it means six 24hours-days :P
okay, i am confused now!!

You are a human being in the year 2006 trying as hard as you can with that big, techno-savy brain of yours to rationalize ancient superstitions.
