You need to get all of your x's on one side and your numbers on the other. Then, simply divide the sum of the x's by the number on the other side. Your answer will show you what X is.
I suggest moving -5x to the side of -3x to make it positive. 2x.
Then, add 4 to both sides making 8+4 = 12
What is 12 / 2? 6.
X = 6
Lets plug it in.
-3(6) - 4 = -22
8-5(6) = -22
-22 = -22
You get it?

add the 5x to the left and the 4 to the right to give 2x=12, then divide each side by 2 to get x=6

1.) transpose -4 & 5x:
-3x+5x=8+4
2.) then do the operations:
2x=12
3.) then divide both equations
by 2 to get the value of x:
x=6

add 4 to both sides
-3x -4+4=8+4-5x
which equals
-3x=12-5x
then add -5x to both sides
-3x+5x= 12-5x+5x
you get 2x=12
then you devide both sides by 2
you get x=6

Add 5x to both side to get 2x-4=8
Then add 4 to both sides to get 2x=12
Now divide both sides by 2 to get the answer

add 5x to both sides. this will give you 2x-4=8. next, add 4 to both sides to get 2x=12. finally divide both sides by two to get x=6

-3x-4=8-5x
and 4 to each side
-3x=12-5x
add 5 to each side
2x=12
divide each side by 2
x=6
