As someone else mentioned, many shelters don't have the necessary funds to treat an injured animal. You would have to give up ownership of her and unless she is taken to a no kill shelter, she will most likely be put down.
There are lots of vets who are willing to take payments. Call your local shelter or ASPA and ask ask if they can refer you to someone.
I apologize for my previous comment, which I know was rude, and which I removed. I made the comment before I knew that you were having financial difficulties..
PLEASE take your dog to a vet ASAP. I'm sure he is in pain and suffering with his leg being broken.
Good luck. I really do hope hat you can find a vet who will help.

I cannot imagine the pound NOT killing your animal (aka putting her to sleep). This is because they usually have no choice - most of them are overcrowded, underfinanced, and out of options for a dog with an injury. They cannot afford much more than the basics. I urge you to do the right thing and take your dog to the vet. Kindly ask for payment options or borrow some money from friends/family. Your dog is counting on you to be responsible. Please do not start a lifelong habit of passing the buck - dumping your responsibilities onto someone else. I am not trying to be cruel to you but feel really strongly that you get your dog the care that she needs. If you are unable to continue to care for your dog, you may want to search for a great home for her. The immediate concern, however, is to get her the proper care and not abandon her when she needs you the most. Please consider this. Thank you.

Take that poor dog to a vet, or a clinic ASAP!!!! Most places will allow you to set up payment plans if you dont have the $$ up front.
A broken leg is curable! He/She is in pain, and needs to be seen by a doctor to get everything right.
Why live with the guilt of just giving up on your dogs broken leg, putting him/her down, & living a lifetime without him/her, when all you have to do is make some sacrifices with cash for a few weeks?!?!!??!?!?!

I hope you are not just bringing her to the pound because of her injuries. Some vets will help you if you tell them your situation. I had a friend who worked at a shelter and the do things there that should be illegal. Please don't take her to the pound, call the vet and see if they will take her or try to find her a new home. Put an ad in the paper. I hope everything works out.

Call different vets and find one that will take payments. It is not a life threatening problem and the dog should not have to die because of it. Also always have your dog on a leash and never leave it outside unsupervised, that way this won't happen again. In many areas it is considered animal abuse to not seek medical treatment when needed.

If it was my dog, I would take her to the veterinarian before even thinking of taking her to the pound. There is so much that vets can do and she might not have to be put to sleep. Poor girl must be in so much pain. Please don't wait any longer to take her to the vet. I would have taken my dog as soon as it happened. I hope everything works out for the best. Good Luck!

Take her to your veterinarian.
A dog will not have to be uethanized for a broken leg... in the worst cases, the leg is just removed.
Depending on the amount of care and how much surgery the sog has, it may not even limp at all. Most dogs will limp after a broken leg.
You should definetly take your dog to your veterinarian. Not only could your dog's leg be broken but she could have internal bleeding, be in shock, or have other broken bones that you are not aware of.
Please take your dog to your veterinarian.
Good luck

They can not forcibly put your dog to sleep. They will suggest it however if there are more internal injuries and you can not afford to pay to have surgery done that would fix any internal problems. If it is only a broken leg, and there are no other serious injuries, they will fix the leg (a cast) and send her home with some painkillers...or tell you to give her a tylenol.
If you are dropping the dog off however, they will likely not have a choice but to put it to sleep because of the cost of care.

Call vets in your area immediatly. I know my vet is a vet cause he truly loves animals. He doesn't do it for the money! Why would you even think about taking it to the pound? There's gotta be a vet that will make a payment plan for you! Don't give up, but don't wait too long!

yes, if you take her to the pound they will pu her to sleep. call your vet and tell them the situation ask if thay can offer a payment plan. if that doesn't work out, try calling rescues in the area. do everything you can. it's not fair for your poor dog to be put to sleep over a broken leg.
