Brush her every day. You can also put a tablespoon of Crisco liquid oil in her food. This helps stop excess shedding.

The answer is a better diet and nothing will completely eliminate the shedding. People too shed hair and skin cells constantly - we just don't notice it as much.

Get a better food than the junk at the grocery store. Food without corn as filler. Excessive shedding is a sign of poor nutrition. The skin is the largest organ of the human body and is used to eliminate toxins from the body. A skin or hair problem is a sign that something is not right inside and can be a sign that drastic things are going on in the liver, kidney, pancreas, thyroid etc.

  • Starting off with a good diet help and brushing regularly also controls the shedding. Keep in mind that shedding is normal and does happen on cycles. The light changes are the reason why most cats shed more in the spring and less in the fall. When daylight increases so does the shedding and so in the fall as daylight gets shorter the shedding reduces. There are many good brands of cat food out there there contains vitamins that help control shedding. You can research most of them or talk to your vet about it and he/she can recommend a very good cat food which will also help keep your cat in great health. Like humans our cats need a balance diet and depending if your cat is an indoor only or indoor/outdoor cat this diet can differ in its needs.

Its not good to bathe cats often and they usually hate it. Brushing won't cure shedding, it may help a little. I have brushed and combed my cats and they still shed alot. I feed them a balanced diet too. My vet couldn't give me anything to help shedding and said hers sheds alot too. Its about the only thing I don't like about cats and wish I knew if there was anything to keep fur from being everywhere.

Buy a good cat brush and brush its fur every day. Unfortunately there is nothing you can- or should- do to prevent shedding. Cats naturally shed hair, moreso in the summer to remian cooler. Then the hair gets thicker again for the colder months.

Buy a cat brush, one with two sides, metal 'thingys'

    and other

brush it every day with metal side first then other side.

if it has long fur it will shed more.
