Will hairspray harm an LCD computer screen?

It was the only thing that would remove permanent marker from the screen. I am hoping for no visable damage.

Permanent marker will eventually go with mildly warm soapy water and gentle rub. Make sure the cloth you are using is Lint-free and barely wet. The cloth that comes with prescription glasses is good. Dip it in soap water, squeeze it dry and rub. Take your own time, since hurry will only bring worry.

Dont use any fluids that have strong chemical properties. Unlike CRTs, the top surface of LCD screens is not glass - its plastic and extremely sensitive to alcohol/acid based cleaners.

LCD screens are very delicate and you should use a special cleaner on them. Here's hoping you haven't damaged the surface.

You should not touch or poke an LCD screen or stick anything to it.

I don;t think so...be more careful with those markers next time because they will really harm your LCD.
