Why are some people who are supposedly religious bashing other religions all the time on here?

The reason I say "some" is because there are some really respectful people here, who are just asking questions seeking knowledge. I would be happy to answer their questions all day, if I knew the result would be to create more understanding. There are some folks here, though, that are not very good representatives of the religions they say they are practicing, because they are so full of hatred. Isn't it wrong to hate in any religion?

Update:

Thanks to all who've answered so far. You are wonderful. I am really finding that last one funny. lol.

Update 2:

Smunfifa, Salam. I agree with what you said completely. It is hurtful when people bash Islam or Muslims. And I also don't like when I see other religions being bashed, either.

I totally agree with you and find it frustrating whenever I try to open mindedly answer someone's question and several other people have answered falsely due to ignorance or hatred towards other belif systems. I am not here to brag about my religion I am a muslim and not afraid to share my knowledge. I have a hard time figuring out if a person is just joking around, ignorant/uneducated, or just stereotyping. In any case it's really quite annoying because they shouldn't give an answer if they don't have a clue or spread misguided and illogical theories. I believe that people who are really against specific religions and consider themselves to be God fearing should be aware of what they say to others. Because as you already stated if they were true christians or buddhists or whatever, they would follow the universal law of not showing hatred to others.

Yes, it is wrong to hate on other religions. Everything should be taken in moderation. Religion is good only when we use it to create understanding and unity, not expose our differences. Remember zealotry only causes more hate, just look at the state of the world today. A lot of the problems we have today is because people can't see past what religion you are to the person you are. It's the 21st century people, it's time we grew up.

It depends on what you mean by bashing.

But i know I'm human and I fail and I've probably said some not nice things and and I know I'm going to say more not nice things. I'm sorry. Think the best answer is we're human we get mad we call each other names and are rude. I don't bash because I hate thought most of the time its because I'm hurt and I want to lash out at someone.

And to the last question no, because to some religions hate it a virtue.

Religions are formed to group people who have same belief. There are lots of prophets, teachers and masters but there will only be one GOD.

For me GOD is infinite, nameless, omnipresent, omniscience. Human regardless of color, race or creed belong to one god. The teachings of all religion is the same, that God is within us and we are all part of god - so we are all one.

EGO creates the illusion of individualism thats why we think we are different from each other.

Spirituality is personal that it is between u and god. The experience of others is different from other people. We are not here to judge any religion for we are all STUDENTS learning the lessons of life and how to realize GOD within us. Not because he have studied the scriptures does not mean we know everything already unless u have experience their own teachings. It is how we treat our fellow human beings that will show how we see GOD in everything there is.

We would see that human have different beliefs and thus we need to respect whatever it is anybody would want to adapt in his life. Its all a matter of where we are comfortable and what will make us happy. We cant prove if we are right or wrong unless we experience it. Instead of judging any religion we should feel LOVE and COMPASSION in our hearts. god bless

My intention is not to bash other religions. I like to answer the questions of people who are trying to get a rise out of people with whatever sarcastic answers they are walking into.

I never answer questions that are respectful with disrespectful answers. I love to answer disrespectful questions with disrepectful answers. Am I contributing to the conflict? Yes, because I lfind it amusing to watch everyone bash eachother and then back up thier attitudes with bible verses. "It's okay that I am an asshole, because your headed to hell anyway. Maybe this will get your attention and plant a seed."

Reading the stuff on this site is not going to change my beliefs, it's just really amusing to me to hear people repeat the stuff I heard over and over growing up and give answers to questions that have nothing to do with what the answer is asking.

My favorite part is that I can just imagine them in church talking about sharing the gospel on internet chat sites.

yes it is wrong and they need to check them selves,we are not to judge we are to help, and be a example so maybe they may decide they want to be with us,and worship God......but putting other people down for their beliefs, they've been raised to believe just like we have,in our belief...so it is hard to except a belief, but we were all made by God and we are human, some have lost that ability to be human, the animal has crept in

HATE BOY= you've taken it totally out of context, how can you help save a sinner if you hate the sinner,if you hate everyone that's different, you've not done your job,if you are claiming to be a disciple

Yes, it is wrong to hate in any religion. I am not religious and I think hate is bad. I learned a lot in the past 3 months-- HATE IS BAD!! Hate got me in trouble and it taught me a lesson.

Lack of the wisdom of God, Lack of self control, lack of reading of the word, lack of truth, lack of self love,

We wrestle not with flesh and blood but with powers of darkness, and wickedness in high places, or weapons are not carnal, but mighty, by the pulling down of strong holds.

Love is the beginning of wisdom, Love is the Representative of Gods children. Love is the fruit of the heart of God.

The only way you get to this point, is listen to God and not man.

Man can think in his own mind he is OK when in fact, he is full of dead men's bones. Dead to God, if he thinks more of himself then what he is. To be alive in God, is to have peace, and give peace, to be loved by God, and show the love of God, no matter what,

Hate, is the same as a murder, hate, is the fruit that grows, anger, and madness, and arguments, and then comes the stuff, abuse out of the fingers, onto the web sight, yet they think its giving wisdom, when in fact, its given the very God they say they love so much, a black eye.

Pray for them for they know not what they do.

if you read any book of history you'll find religions have attacked each other for as long as we have had records of religion...atleast here they're voicing their opinions rather than their usual bombing, killing and wars.

    Religion- what a wonderful weapon.

Because have nothing else to do. Honestly, I respect every religion but it's more fun to debate about things.
