Weird neck/head pains?

I have had a pain that runs from my sholder up through my neck up to the back of my head. I've had it for a few weeks. Any ideas???

Women have a tendency to sleep on their stomachs. If you do this, this will certainly contribute to neck pains over time. So the take home message is do not sleep on you stomach, and watch your posture. Do not let your head hang forward.

Tigh? Is that thigh? Physical therapy would be good. A really good massage therapist might also be able to help. You may be having problems (tightness) in your scalene muscles. Someone to look at your postural habits and suggest changes would be good. If you need new glasses but have put it off, that can cause neck strain. Are you getting any upper body exercise at a gym? It can make a huge difference. Lower body exercise too, if that's a thigh having spasms. If you haven't been getting exercise, I would start there. This sort of thing can also be caused by changes in the spine (new little bumpy growths, arthritis, or other), which can sometimes progress to the point of needing surgery, so getting a medical evaluation before physical therapy would be good.

Might be a pinched nerve. Check with doctor.
