What to do with all of that halloween candy?

any suggestions? I have a 4 yr old who is hyper enough without a major sugar rush. we are limiting his intake to 2 pieces a day and hiding the rest (until I find where I hid it next year...lol)

alot of the homes we went to last night gave the neatest stuff...like little containers of pay dough, pumpkin sun glasses, pencils, glow sticks which I think are great and are keeping him from bouncing off the walls...but the candy.....oh my, we still have so much of it.

Our church does something where they collect the candy, then send it to the troops overseas. I'm not sure of the specifics, but this may help

When your kids are so hyper that they run around with sheets on their backs singing gohstbusters and and doing a Congo line at the same time like mine are right now, and they haven't had any candy, try this. I have five, soon to be six kids, so you can't even imagine the amount of candy we get! One option, we do this every year, is to let them pick out their favorite candy's and then use plastic wrap and ribbon to make a necklace. Halloween only comes once a year, right? So we let our kids live a little. We turn on some music and eat candy and play hide and seek with the kids. They all get a ginormous sugar high and eventually, they crash and wake up with a sugar hangover. I help them get through their barfing and headaches, and then all the candy goes to school, church, work, friends, and charity. Have a blast and a happy Halloween (hopefully with out any sugar hangovers**)!

Wow we don't have trick or treater's till 2mrw night (6-8pm) But I reccomend that you put it in a candy dish and offer to friend's when they come over, mabey take some to work and pass it around. Or just throw it away, not like you payed for it. I also bought neat stuf...spooky tatoo's, fake bug's, little bouncy ball's, mini plastic puzzle's and some witche's wart's! Good luck & happy halloween.

You could donate it to a food pantry or a school. Teachers here are always handing out candy when the kids are good in class. Wish they would get parent permission for that.....lol. Good luck.

Why did you already do trick or treating? Halloween isn't until tomorrow. If you are going to have trick or treaters still coming to your house tomorrow, then just pull out a little bit of candy and give the rest out to those who come to your house.

With the candy that my kids had left last year, we made little bags and they passed it out at there sunday school class. Or you can always take some of it to work with you.

I allow my son to pick out some of his favorites...keep the healthy stuff if you got any (i.e. pretzels and such)...limit to about a weeks worth and then I take the rest to work where it is a huge hit with coworkers and customers.
