Dark armpits on a fair skinned gal?
My 18 year old daughter's armpit skin is dark. It's purely a cosmetic problem, but it bothers her. She is blonde with fair skin but her underarms are very dark. Any ideas to help lighten them?
would prefer a natural remedy.
She shaves her armpit hair. It's the "skin" that is dark compared to the rest of her skin tone, not the hair.
It shows when she wears sleeveless tops

you should take her to a dermatologist. they should be able to provide some topical cream to lighten the area.

Dark hair in the underarm areas are very common, even for fair skinned people. You cannot lighten the hair permanently (although you can get rid of it completely with electrolysis or laser hair removal treatment), but you should try a creme bleach (available at drugstores) to temporarily solve the solution. Or visit your hair care section at walmart and they will have bleaching kits available there. Unfortunately no home remedy will really be very effective since the hair in this area is dark and coarse. However, there are a variety of hair removal options.
