Is it weird that a 50 year old man has never been married and...?
Because of my years in the Hotel and Restaurant business in Canada, travelling like I did, I just never had time to settle down, now when inquiring on dating websites, I get some strange reponces and comments as to my sanity and the nature of my intentions plus why I want to start this now, any help, suggestions or comments???

Just tell them the truth. I wish you married my mom. She re married and he's a mess. At least you can cook ( I read some of your answers). Can you teach some cooking classes or something to find a babe? OOOh, join a book club. In person is way easier to trust than over the internet. You're in the Toronto area? (I'm in Edmonton). You should have no problem finding a club you could fit into. Trail and nature club, Scottish Country dancing club...........I don't know.
But good luck.

There's nothing weird about waiting till you're ready... just because you're not on the same time-table as the dating services, it doesn't mean they should make comments about your sanity or the nature of your intentions... that's obviously being harshly judgemental.
If you seek help from other dating services, ask them if they're prejudice against someone who isn't married by the time they're the age of 50... then go on from there.

There is no set time to do anything. It's better to have waited than to have ended up in a divorce because you were to busy traveling. Good luck.

I'm 40 years old and i'm not married. It's becoming more commonplace to stay single for a long time. Marriage is not what it use to be!

Don't let their comments stop you. Keep meeting new people. When the right one comes along, it won't matter anymore.

No, it is not weird at all...It is the people on the dating sites who are weird...Don't be discouraged since you will meet someone caring.
