What is the maximum height a cat will land on it's feet from?

    I actually watched a show on the discovery channel about this very topic.

    It takes a few seconds for the cat to turn in midair and be able to land on its feet, so it is actually far more dangerous and likely to be hurt if it falls from a short distance than from a longer one.

    I have no idea what the max would be, are you asking the max for the cat to still live? If given a large distance, the cat will always land on its feet but that may not prevent injury.

    A Straight Dope column ( http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a5_190.html ) mentions a cat that survived a 46-story fall. It doesn't say whether the cat actually landed on its feet, though, so that might not answer your question. ("It apparently bounced off a canopy and into a planter.")

    46 stories might not be the record, either, but I think it's a pretty good start.

    i seen a cat jump out of a tree at least 20 ft and he just walked away lol i thought that was it for him he was in the tree we were trying to get him down lol perfect 4 pt landing
