Generally people with fake accounts don't allow e-mail.

I do allow e-mail and don't understand why you wouldn't have it if you are a genuine user.

    * Your address remains private and anonymous so that nobody can see your name or Yahoo ID, and the IP cannot be traced through Yahoo Answers.

    * I have never received spam - ever. Yahoo Mail is spam protected.

    * I have had one or two mildly suggestive e-mails, which gave me a laugh and were easily deleted.

    * I have had one or two angry mails from people who didn't care for me, but I found that a soft answer usually turns away wrath. It's very difficult to have a slanging match with someone who treats you with respect and courtesy in return. Try it some time!

    * I have been stalked and it was a bit of a pain, but they soon got bored and moved on.

I do. I've had a few people email me and since it's through Yahoo Answers my email doesn't show up. One person just wanted a little more information in regards to a winery I had suggested they try because every wine there was excellent. Others just asked a simple question, where another had actually answered my question and we conversed a little in regards to my question.

As far as getting spam, I'm not sure how anyone would get spam unless they publized their email in their answer so everyone in the world can get it.

Everyone has their reason for allowing someone to email them through Yahoo Answers as well as not allowing them.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

I don't accept e-mail, but then I don't send personal e-mail either. I don't want every nutter under the sun sending me personal e-mail, particularly BNP racists who I will always criticise. My yahoo e-mail address might identify me as I have a fairly unusual surname, so I prefer the anonymity of the Sceptic persona.

I think it would be only fair not to allow me to see and use other peoples' e-mail addresses, since I prefer to withhold mine. I suppose I could open a different e-mail account with a different name - but that would be equally cowardly!

good question, Paul. Basicaly i may be susceptible to assert they're prepared approximately themselves and are terrified of recieving a thumbs down etc. it rather is referred to as engaging and having exciting being on solutions I say, however the form who do no longer upload their e mail are patently purely people who can no longer take the unusual undesirable respond (as is the norm). additionally those are the "types" who harbour for ultimate answer from human beings and by no ability supply thank you whilst they recieve it.

Yahoo Answers is the sole reason I signed up for Yahoo, and the only reason I have an email account with them. I don't know that I've ever actually checked it, come to think about it.

Thus, I've opted to not allow email because it would be a waste of time for someone to send me a message, as I'd likely never see it.

So if you jump off a bridge you think I should do that too? Not scared of anything really, I just don't do it.

I don't have time to be bugged by people I don't really wish to chat with. I only give out email to people I know and wish to speak to. I go on YA so I can help anyway I can and see peoples opinions. Not to chat.

THE ABUSERS ARE SCARED OF RETALIATION. SEEMS TO BE ONE LOGICAL EXPLANATION, ALTHOUGH NOT THE RULE OF THUMB. SOME PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF WERE WORRIED THAT THE WRONG PEOPLE WOULD GET INTO OUR MAIL. I PUBLICIZE MY ADDRESS WITH CERTAIN QUESTIONS AND I'VE HAD SOME UNWANTED EMAILS. BOTTOM LINE IS SIMPLE, I SPAM THEM AND THEY DONT GET A SECOND CHANCE. GOOD INQUIRY.

    GOD BLESS

It wasn't abuse, I gave someone a good answer, and he wouldn't stop harrassing me and started being dirty, and kept sending suggestive e-mails. You don't know what people are like on here.
