What's the best way to keep pineapple fresh?
It seems that a day after I cut it the refridgerated pineapple is already getting brown and less tasty.

Pineapple is one of the few fruits that will not ripen after it has been picked. It is very very picky. It only rots once picked and that process speeds up considerable after you cut it up.
I would recommend cutting it into large chunks/ slices and storing it in a air-tight container or saran wrap in the fridge. You can also soak it in a simple syrup (2:1 sugar to water ratio) but it won't stay firm but will get sweeter (because of the syrup not the fruit).

You put them in a plastic container, zip bag or just a normal plastic freezer bag, and keep it in the fridge. This way it keeps fresh for 5 days. I eat a lot of pineapples, and because of the work of cutting it, I cut it into circles, and just take out what I need at that moment.

My mum always use to cut it up and store it in salted water in the fridge. Rather than sugar, which will make the fruit even sweeter, the salt will bring out it's flavour more. This also works with watermelon (not the storing in water bit, just the salt bit).

will keep well for several days in a fruit bowl at room temperature, especially if bought or picked just before they are ripe. However, you must be sure to keep these fruits away from direct sunlight.
