I put a DVD+R/+RW ReWriter into my computer. What ALL do I need to burn movies to a DVD so they will work?
Do I need additional software? If so what does this consist of & where can I get it? I want to do so my burnt DVD's will play in a standard DVD player also.
Thank You.

First of all you will need a program to remove the copy protection on your dvd. Dvd shrink is a good one and very easy to use. Then you just need some burning software such as Nero.
Have a look at the following website, it has some good step by step guides to help you through what you are trying to do:

I'd guess you got software with the hardware if not "yes" you'll need it. There are many out there. Personally I use Roxio but it's just a choice. If you're wanting to make copies of the DVDs you've bought you'll have to get around the copyright protection. Since they don't have a shelf life of more then five years on avg. I make copies of what I buy and play those and keep the origianls in the case. I use "ICopyDVDs2" for this. There is also a free program to over ride the protection DVD43

nicely in the start you need to study what compatablility your DVD participant has. verify interior the guide and maximum DVD gamers have it revealed good on the CD tray so that you may obviously see it. basically verify if it play DVD-R and/or DVD+R. i'd recommend the DVD RW as you may burn videos onto the cd over and throughout back. so so you might use that disc continually. the different sorts you may't, basically one time burn.

The DVD-Rw should have com w/ an installation disk. If not look up the manufactures website, I´m sure you can download it.
If you just want to copy movies that you rent or borrow DVD SHRINK is really easy to use and you can also download it, I use version 3.2 not sure if there is a new one.
