Have you ever NOT gotten Christmas presents from your parents when you were young??

Im curious as to how many folks never got something one Christmas because they had been bad all year as a kid !!! Or any parents have you done this to your kid to get them to straighten up??? Im not talking doing this to a 5 yr old...talking kids old enough to know better...12 and up.....

Update:

I alwys got presents as a kid...Im talking how many who were taught a lesson by NOT receiving gifts...reason being I know of a kid that her parents havebeen trying to break of CONSTANTLY lying etc...they cany trust her at all...12 yrs old and they're contemplating not giving her her gifts this year..presents were bought but are staying in the closet!!! She's totally disrupting the family....

I think its a good idea. It happened to my little sister once becuase she wasa huge *****. So no one bought her any birthday presents and on her birthday we all kinda ignored her. She got so upset she started acting very sweet . Once my mother was convinced she had straighten up a little bit she bought her presents about a month later as a late birthday gift. She learned that doing bad things gets you nothing but being good gets you something big and special. As long as their may be a light at the tunnel with some kind of reward for good behavior, I don't see why you shouldn't . just don't be cruel about it

you need to coach him you care and love him, if meaning a present make/purchase one. How previous is he? not getting him a present would basically make him hate you and positioned him in a pissy mood and spoil your holiday season. are you able to tell your mom/dad to seek for suggestion from with him, and pressure him into taking sometime to make or purchase a present? at the same time as he sees that you basically like the present he made/offered you it's going to make him experience good too, and help destiny years. or you may practice him a lesson on giving and rapidly clarify ( relies upon on his age..) the terrible difficulty some little ones are in overseas, ravenous, no college. and also you need to get him actual a kind of "deliver a baby to varsity for a three hundred and sixty 5 days" or "purchase a kin a goat" issues from Oxfam or 10000 Villages. If he won't be able to appricate that he's a grasping brat and your mother and father are mess ups. lol jk.

I was never deprived gifts for Christmas but my mom did "cancel" Easter because my brother and I were fighting and broke something of hers. I'll tell you, my brother and I never acted up again around the holidays.

My husband hardly ever got christmas presents from his parents, they are mentally ill, and dirt poor farmers, so they either forgot or couldn't afford to... same with birthdays, of course. very sad, really.

    nope it was always magical

always a heap of presents on Xmass eve, from grandma and uncle nick too. then stockings full of presents and one large gift too on Xmass morning, then a drive to see grandma and more still, then to grandpa and some more.

Source(s): I don't think any of em ever forgot.
