Any Aussies genuinely disappointed in England's performance?

Im an Aussie, and im dissapointed in englands perforamance, i expected a much better performance by england, they have some great players so I was very suprised, its nice win, but sometimes its even nicer when the competition makes more of game of it. I think england were lucky to win last year, and while australia were more aggorant in 2005, I think they have learnt from that series and I much better team mentally, lets hope england can make more of game of it, for crickets sake.

"genuinely disappointed"? I am not disappointed at all - genuine or fake. Let the Aussies rip through the series 5-0. In sport - show no mercy! Especially more so before the series started with all the talk of how good this English side was and whether the Aussies can step up to the task.

At the after match interview/media conference, there will always be the "reason" why they lost. How about just call a spade a spade and say "The Australian team is just too good"?

I'm an Aussie and I am incredibly dissapointed about Englands performance this summer. There is nothing worse than a dead Boxing Day Test! If it wasn't Warney's last match at the MCG I'm sure people wouldn't have come to the cricket. They would have rather had a sleep in than watch the un-spirited cricket on offer!

When we won back the Ashes I didn't feel all that proud of the Aussies because they had done it against a low quality team. It honestly felt like we had won a series against Bangladesh or Zimbabwe. It seems to me like Australia really aren't all that concerned about this test match; they are already thinking about the one dayers, and I hope England can put in a better performance in these.

Full credit to Matthew Hoggard for actually showing some fighting spirit, I mean, he really wants to get the Aussie batters out. Steve Harmison looked like he really didn't want to bowl in that first test match at the Gabba. Batting Keven Pietersen down the order is a mistake, he is going to be left not out on to many occasions.

As far as I'm concerced we didnt win back the Ashes, England gave it back to us. Hopefully we win the series 5-0, and then go and play Bangladesh and only win 3-2, so England can feel completely embarrased and get what they deserve for coming Australia, giving us some cricket to watch, but giving us crap!

Italian Aussie supporter currently resident in the UK here (bet there's not many of those!) England's collapse was fun to watch, but conditions have looked tricky for batting so far. I'll be happier if the Aussies can get a decent first innings lead as it's not impossible for them to collapse as well given the conditions.

Sadly I think Warney and McGrath are gone for good. Warne will be nearly impossible to replace but Clark seems a perfect replacement for McGrath,

I also agree with Danru about not hearing the end of it when England win something, it's even worse if you live there!

I am a Pakistani and I agree with you that Aussies are thoroughly disappointed with England's performance being a fine side which they are they wanted stiff competition from the pom's which did not happen, alto ugh they may have won the series but I presume they did not enjoy it that much as Englishmen fell like nine pins. After the recent statement by Murali that he will take 1000 wickets before retiring I advice Warne not to retire as he is a much finer bowler then Murali who chucks.

The team under Vaughn had imagination, I do not believe that Flintoff or Strauss are made to Captain a side, the poms should bring back Vaughn as Captain if they want a good performance in the world cup

Yes i'm desperately disappointed, but what goes around comes around and eventually, whether you like it or not, the Australian teams fortunes will fade and Englands will rise. And as for never hearing the end of it when England win, take a good look at yourselves. I am hearing an awful lot of crowing coming from your camp at the moment!

Yes Shane Warne probably will hang up his boots which will be a great loss to world cricket. Lets not forget that McGrath is also retiring, he has been a great ambassador for the game and his contribution should not be forgotten.

I think they must be - it's not that much fun to watch a walkover and the amount of people at the MCG have shown that - attendances have fallen once the Ashes were won. Seems like no one wants to watch a team being trounced - it's embarrassing

I think they would rather win by beating a team almost as good and coming the better - almost a hollow victory, like whenever we beat Zimbabwe or Bangladesh - you know it's going to happen and that takes the 'sporting' element out of it.

Am English and I fly out to Sydney at 20:12 tonight, praying that we show up for the last Test and we make it to day four of this one

As an Englishman I am more disapointed about the way the lads have collapsed ,I thought that the Aussies would win the series but I expected more from this England team.

I hope that lessons are taken from this series about how to focus and prepare for a test series ,England have some fine players but they simply did not prepare properly for this series and the results are plain to see .

I am an aussie and I think it's great that england are playing so bad! Just to keep them quiet if anything, cuz whenever they win anything, we never hear the end of it (even if it was a rugby world cup years ago!)....

Warney did great - time will tell if he really will retire, but he will prob make a great commentator aswell...

It grew to become into detrimental. Many questions could desire to be asked which comprise some very previous ones nonetheless no longer resolved. i presumed Rooney performed nicely and saved his neck wound in. Gerrard dwindled after early sparkle. Lampard did no longer something specific from this deeper place that would not wholesome him. Terry made a purpose and led via occasion in getting the winner while issues took a sticky turn. prevalent - way wanting a international cup triumphing communities overall performance.
