What is the cutest habit/trait of your infant or toddler (or one you know)?

My nephew is almost 11 months old. He is absolutely adorable but has some really weird quirky traits--that are also adorable.

For one, he beckons everything and has since he was about 6 months old. He will turn his palm up and try to rake things in, including toys, the ceiling light, pictures on the wall, etc. I have worked with kids for almost ten years and have never seen one who did this. It is SO cute!

Also, if a door opens it is the coolest thing to him in the world. He will come from another room when he hears it open to play with it--including the refrigerator door! In his old house there was about a three inch gap under the doors and he would crawl up to them at 7 months and try to look under them--including the bathroom door anytime someone went to the bathroom!!!

What are the cutest things that your kids do?

Update:

My nephew is a pusher too. He has one book shaped like a truck and that is the only thing he would play with for two weeks (until he broke it). He would push it along the walls, under chairs, behind furniture, etc. I forgot about that one. That was right after he learned to crawl!

Update 2:

Everyone's answers are reminding me of more cute things he does. He will stand in front of his walker and hit the button that makes music and then does this cute little dance where his head just kind of moves from side to side (but doesn't tilt) and he shakes his little booty. Makes you wonder where they learn this stuff when noone ever shows them. :) Kay, I'll stop adding on now. Keep up with the stories!

My granddaughter...when she is happy or excited, she flaps her arms up and down...it is so CUTE!! And when she hears music she shakes her hands in this goofy way I can't even explain while she sways back and forth...CUTE. She just cracks me up. And of course, the way she laughs, she just doesn't hold back..Aren't little kids the greatest thing in the world?

well, my daughter is 10 months old. About a month ago the tummy rasberries started to bore her, and she started to get ticklish on her neck. So I started making farting noises on her neck to get her to giggle and she would laugh so hard she would snort :P ! Anyway, so now when I'm holding her after a bottle or we're just sitting and hanging out, she will get silly and fling her head back, exposing her neck, wanting me to blow rasberries! I will oblige her, sit her back up, and right away there she goes again flinging her head back lol. Also, she always wants to share with me. She tries to force her pacifier in my mouth from time to time, and when we are playing, she usually will try to hand me something when she is done with it and ready to move onto something else. She's a total sweetie and has a magnetic personality! I could go on and on but those are the two things that first came to mind!

My son is just learning to talk in sentences and if he sees me getting frustrated with a housechore or the finances, he'll come up, look me in the eye and say" you can do it, try harder". It is so cute. Or if I accidently hurt myself doing something, he'll stretch his arms out and say "come here" then He'll give me a kiss and say "all better". Right now he's getting into the habit of calling us by our first names instead of mama and dada which is kind of weird but still cute in a way.

Then when my mom comes over she asks him "can grandma love you forever?" and he runs his hand down the side of her face and says"of course" then gives her a kiss. It just about brings her to tears everytime!

That is so adorable about your nephew when he used to look under the doors! I can just picture it!

    Kids are so great.

When my youngest son was 3 the only thing he was completely in love with (besides me.. talk about your Oedipus complex!) was cars. He was so in love with cars that if we were in a parking lot and were passing cars.. he would stop and give them all a kiss..literally. He would literally kiss the cars in the parking lot.. and then say "byeee".

The other thing he used to do was get angry at my husband whenever he dropped me off to work. He used to smack his daddy and say "Bad daddee.. make mommy go" I found it totally hilarious..

Your nephew and the doors is so funny :D

My niece at 11 months, would close her eyes and walk around with her arms stretched out in front of her. If she felt something, she'd walk around it, if she bumped into something too hard and fell backwards....she'd just laugh, get back up , close her eyes and start walking again.

This was hilarious because, for one thing, she could barely stay on her feet with her eyes OPEN! We don't know where she came up with the idea of walking with her eyes CLOSED!! :))

She still does this at 14 months. It's still amusing to see.

I am a teahcer in a child development program with 3 yr olds...I have one child in my class that refers to herself in the third person. She will say... " Izzy needs to go potty", or "Izzy got a boo-boo". It is the funniest thing to hear her talk about herself like that!
