Wow! You have some interesting "facts", there.
Unemployment figures may be down, but the statistics used count those drawing unemployment payments. When benefits run out for someone, they are no longer counted in the published numbers. There are lots of people out there with no jobs, no income, and nobody knows their numbers.
Oil prices are comming down a little from the rediculous highs they reached earlier in the year. The drop happened just before the election. Wasn't that convenient? Now you see prices at the pump creeping upward again. Pay attention.
Taxes at 20 year lows? Ask someone who works for a living. Don't ask them what their refund was or will be. Ask them how much was taken from their paycheck.
Tax revenues at all time highs? What about previous statement? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to try to reconcile the two. But you can factor in the inflation which we haven't felt yet, but will very soon.
There is no such thing as the Federal deficit being down. Either there is a defecit or their isn't. 7th grade math wasn't that hard. Oh, you mean that the defecit isn't as high as it was last year? Whoop de doo! Money that doesn't exist is still being spent. Who's going to pay for it?
Home valuations up 200% just means that fewer and fewer Americans will be able to purchase one. And there are too many unsold homes on the market at these inflated prices, with desperate sellers paying mortgages on their new homes and wondering how they are going to get rid of the old one.
Inflation seems to be in check for now. The treasury has done a good job of issuing new paper and new and different coins so that these will wind up in collections, jars, and cigar boxes. Even outdated paper bills are collected by some fools. Once these hoarders decide that their collections are nearly worthless, this money will find its way into circulation and you will see a round of inflation that will astonish you.
Terrorist attacks? How many were there before 9/11/01? They don't have a regularly published schedule. Let's wait and see what happens.
Remember that almost any fact can be spun to make it mean what you want.

Almost all your facts are true and the other facts I'm not sure about but I'll believe you. Maybe the slogan "A new direction for America" is for other issues you didn't mention. If the Democrats want a new direction, I hope it means in alternative energy, environment care, election reform (Electoral College and the gerrymandered electoral system), better integration, etc. I don't know but there is one thing that scares the day lights out of me: illegal immigration. And I'm guessing you're worried so maybe we've agreed on something. I think the economy is stronger than in the past 5 years and safegurading Americans from terrorist attacks is also important. I didn't know taxes were down so that's good. But I have a question: will we have a recession in a few years or will our economy still be healthy? It's the price you pay. And if China is right behind us, we have to be able to face the good and bad (not saying it'll happen but it's always better to be safe then sorry as people say). A long comment but I think it's fair. LOL (By the way, I'm a moderate Democrat :) )

I am not a Democrat and certainly not a liberal, but I will take up their cause for a moment. Almost every issue you mentioned here was not part of the platform for most Democratic candidates. The new direction they spoke of usually related to the war which they felt was going badly. Apparently a majority of Americans agreed on this point as they were voted into power. You will find that most liberals will not address your claims, but will rather deny them outright because there is no defense against them.
The Democrats did not present new ideas. They played to fears on the war while offering no productive alternative solutions, a promise of a raise in the minimum wage and the general idea that all things Republican were bad and needed to be reined in with investigations and added oversight. The cause of the Republican defeat is purely of their own making. Too many Republicans have abandoned conservative ideas and the electorate rightly felt that a message needed to be sent on that basis. A change in leadership during a second presidential term is not new, it happens quite often. The real evidence of where the country stands politically will come in 08 election.

So after oil prices soared last year and now the oil companies are being investigated oil prices are coming down congratulations. The deficit as said before if you increase the deficit by more than anyone in history yes it will eventually fall more than anytime in history. As far as taxes you are correct they are lower now than anytime in history. Housing valuations up 200% who does this help? The people who are trying to sell the house in a market where no one can afford this incredibly high house or the consumer who wants to live but because of the taxes imposed they can't afford to buy or rent.
I hope that one day you will be able to read an article, then do your own research and formulate your own opinion on a topic. Remember when speaking of politics you need to look at the past few years not today. No policy will every effect one day it effects years.

Where do you get your info. You are a confused person!
The Federal Deficit is down! Really? Down from what? Bush ran up a 3 1/2 TRILLION dollar deficit! Think you could phony up the economy o9n that kind of money and a war! 25,000 dead or wounded and 500 new millionaires! Proud?
The new direction is to quit lying, quit disobeying the laws and constitution. Quit robbing from the poor to give to the rich and maybe get a few thousand troops from being lit up by an Iraqi!
None of you're questions are legitimate. In fact, they all play on the truth as you don't tell the people how all those things happened!
It was nice of big oil, who has been gouging Americans, to lighten up on their prices 3 days before the primary! If the Repubs were still in control the prices would go up again instead of the oil companies being hauled before the Senate for a little product price gouging investigation!
Borrow, borrow, borrow! Bush has run up the deficit more in 6 years than the entire deficit from the early 1980's until 2000!!
I think Our economy and budget was a hell of a lot better off under Clinton.

See this is a question of language and wording. What I am unclear about whether you understand what exactly they mean when they promise a "new direction". It is implied that things will be better than what they were when republicans control congress and the white house. What it actually means is that they will do the exact same things but they're representative of a different party.

I was aware of all of the things you mention, but not from the mainstream media they never mention these things it is like we are living on separate planet.
Tell me if you do not notice this behavior from the media, if you write a book, criticizing or attacking this president you get front page news, invited on 60 minutes praised and get at least your 15 minutes of fame.
If you support the president nothing!.... is just me that notice this?

Excellent questions, to which there is no logical defense or response from liberal buffoons... they use the media bias to convince everyone that the sky is falling, but the facts simply do not support that...
