When do babies start rolling over?

My daughter is 3 and a half months and doesn't roll all the way over, just to her side.. should i be worried??

Update:

i dont know any baby who rolls over at 3 weeks

Update 2:

Seriously, babies dont roll over on thier own before at least two months.. why do people feel the need to make thier children sound like mutant super babies?

it's exceptional that they manage it before 3 months. And if they do, it's rare that they can go back.

by age 6 months however they tend to roll over easily (though the way back may not yet be mastered).

    When Do Babies Start Rolling

I agree with KYcindylou! Your baby will roll over when she's ready.

It's not required for a baby to roll over by 4 months. Some kids do things earlier than others but it doesn't mean they'll be any better than a baby who rolls over at 6 months or even later. I'm assuming this is your first baby? :) I did the same thing...always worried she wasn't doing things on time and comparing her to every other baby her age. Don't drive yourself crazy like I did. LOL

If your eager than maybe you encourage her to roll over by placing her on her tummy and placing a toy off to the side of her so she'll have to roll to get to it. Show her once by rolling her over to it and then replace her back on her tummy to see if she'll try on her own. But don't get frustrated if she doesn't. Just keep trying things. Encouragment never hurts. If she's making it to her side already...a full roll over isn't too far away!

    Don't worry mommy she's just fine! :)

My baby rolled over at four months and she is a very active baby (she walked at 10 months) , so I would not worry at all! How early they roll over and achieve other physical milestones is largely dependent on their personality type (active, timid, calm, etc). Some babies roll over at two months and some not until six months. Just give her plenty of supervised 'tummy time', try to put toys a little out of her reach, and she will roll over all the way when she is ready!

My son began rolling over at 2 1/2 months...so we cheered! Now..at 6 1/2 months he's decided to wait on the whole crawling thing. I've found with all three of my children that the time they start to do different things is different with each child. The pediatrician will let you know when to worry and they never mind a parent asking questions (if they do find another pediatrician..). Relax and enjoy whatever pace your little one feels like setting. Encourage new skills but don't hold your breath waiting on them. He or she will roll over the rest of the way when they really decide they want to....or when you least expect them to *grin*

My son rolled over for the first time at 4 months. He will be 5 months old tomorrow and he can roll over both directions.

My daughter started rolling over at 3 months and my son starting rolling over at 7 weeks and rolling back at 10 weeks. Your daughter will roll over when she's ready.

NO, don't worry, she sounds right on track. When they roll to their side, its practice and a sure sign that she is going to surprise you very soon and go all the way over.

Take safety precautions now, never leave her where she could roll off something. Mine didn't roll all the way over till this age either.

I have friends who just had twins. They are now 5 months old. Their son started rolling over.

My son rolled over from his tummy to his back at 4 weeks, but I dont remember how old he was when he rolled over the other way. Have you asked your daughters Dr. about this? It doesnt seem like she is way too old not to have rolled over yet so I wouldnt be worried but her Dr. should be able to tell you, or you could just call the Dr.'s office and ask a nurse.
