Is there any way to slow the divorce rate in the U.S.?

I have a friend who is getting a divorce and he must go to a divorce class before he gets it. He told me the room was packed, 40+ people and there are new classes every week. It really saddens me to think of all these broken families from every walk of life. What can a person do?

how about having a law man and a judge at every wedding.

there usually not there or involved until after the marriage happens. if they were there before people might think before they do it.

also put time in as a couple 2-3 years. minimum.

drugs and alchol also seem to have an in fluence in unity, but those are different problems, that leads to divorce.

take all the leading factors that might lead to it ,and present the couple with a signed document legal and binding ,that the out come of any drug ,alchol, cheating what ever, will be settled in court. word just dont seem to be enough.

Im going with make it alot harder to get divorced or make it a lot harder to get married. It is WAY to easy to get divorced these days, so way to many young idiots are getting married, finding out it isnt all fun and games, and getting divorced as soon as they can. I would go into why it was ok for the young people to get married real young in the past, but lets face it. This country is moving far away from marriage being the norm, or even useful. The real culprit, and i know i will get crap for this, is women having careers and such. No more staying at home and keeping the house and the baby. It causes more stress on a relationship, and now women know they don't have to be dependent on a man, so BOOM! divorce.

Because marriage takes hard work and a lot of people who work hard on their day to day jobs don't want to come home and have to work hard some more. I know that sounds simplistic, but if you count all of the divorces with the reason of "irreconsilable differences" on them, you will see that I'm not too far off.

People need to think more before they marry. I don't think people realize the hard times that come in any marriage and when those times arrive, they can't handle it.

And, of course, pre-nups would stem the tide.

The problem is that kids today don't have a good home life.

Both parents working and the pace is set to fast. Hardly anyone thinks of marriage as forever. It is as long as this makes me feel good i will stay married. I can tell you you won't always feel good or even like being married but feelings change. Love is forever because love is a choice not just a feeling. Make a good choice and stick with it.

    Thanks good luck

Take a pre-marrage counciling class before you get married. That way there is no surprises. It also increases your chances of staying married.

The only way to change society is to start with yourself. Don't get a divorce.

Yes, slow the marriage rates and the divorce rates will also depreciate accordingly. Other than that, no.
