As a Mother, have you ever heard a quote about mothers and known it was written for you? If so, which quote?

The quote below describes me to a T. Just last night we were having soup and there wasn't enough for everyone, so I said I don't like soup that much anyway, I really wasn't that hungry !! Now I am STARVING...lol . Anyway, I'd really like to hear what you guys think applies to you, even if it's not a "direct" quote.

A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie. ~Tenneva Jordan

Update:

Let me not forget the Fathers as well... sorry being a Mom I just thought about quotes that dealt with moms...

The quote that often passes through my mind is 'a mother's job is to be left.'

Here's my favorite quote on children:

    On Children by Kahlil Gibran

Your children are not your children.

They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.

They come through you but not from you,

And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts.

For they have their own thoughts.

You may house their bodies but not their souls,

For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.

You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.

For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.

The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.

    Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;

For even as he loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

My favorite is "To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world."

It was particularly meaningful when I was pregnant and I really WAS my baby's whole world; whatever I did would impact on her. Having it posted on my fridge and my bulletin board at work was a good reminder!! (Especially when I got Gestational Diabetes and suddenly had to change my whole diet and exercise regime.)

Now that my baby is 1 & I've had to take her to daycare and return to work the smile on her face when her Dad and I pick her up is proof that we mean the world to her.

I print this quote out with some cute baby cliparts and put it in a clear magnet frame to give out whenever a friend gets pregnant.

Loved your quote too though - very true!!

    Thanks for a good question!

    Take care!

My newest favorite is "while correcting your child, you open your mouth and your parents fall out". As in, you act alot more like your own parents than you'll ever admit. The older my kids get, the more its true.

My other favorite is "You'll pay for your childhood". Sometimes my mother is in tears she's laughing so hard as she listens to the newest antics my three have gotten into. They are good kids, but boy are they full of mischief, much like I was at that age. The older I get, the more I respect my mom and how she tried to raise us.

    for me mine would be

"A womans work is never done"

I am a mother of a 6 week old girl. My husband works 8 hour shifts and comes home and complains that he is working too hard and too much. I tell him that he is lucky he gets to come home and relax.... While me! I am still doing work, all day and all night.... Im up 2 or 3 times during the night feeding and changing bums...(lucky me lol)

!!!!!!So a womans work is never done!!!!!!

a million Cor. 2:eleven; Matt. 24:36 The Holy Spirit is the daddy. to settle to your place might propose figuring out the Holy Spirit as an insignificant extension, character, or manifestation of the daddy.
