Iraq will end up the same way it was before the war. After all the chaos is done, a brutal dictator will take control, because frankly, a brutal dictator is the only thing that can keep that country in line.

A democratic theocratic Iraqi Republic based on the Puritan (theocratic) Republic created by the Pilgrims in Massachusetts in 1620 and thereafter would be a great model for a democratic theocratic Iraq. The government created by the Pilgrims in Massachusetts remained very much intact even into the 1800's.

The basic problem is not democracy or theocracy but religious toleration. Religious toleration does not require democracy. There was religious toleration in France under Henry of Navarre, King of France 1572-1610.

A possible solution might be to let each section of the country choose its own theocracy. Another possibility would be to elect representatives based on their Muslim sect with a provision for representation of non-Muslims written in the Constitution also.

in case you will come across ANY American newshounds outdoors the golf green Zone in Baghdad, that could have been interior the days of Saddam. each and all of the accepted alphabet information crews spend a month interior a lodge room interior the golf green Zone, then tell bs conflict memories whilst they go returned living house. in fact, Iraq is merely too risky for everyone - it extremely is why the UN has no presence there. There could desire to be some actuality to the old CIA confession interior the 60's that they administration a number of the media shops interior the continental US and someplace else. there is not any longer yet another explanation for the bs which you adult males could desire to conflict by once you turn on the fool container.

You are quite correct and we can't win. Iraq never wanted a democracy like ours. Bush and his cronies made a big mistake thinking they did. Now we are involved in a war that we cannot win. The only reason we are staying is that we are afraid that Iran will move in if we pull out. It will happen eventually and we will have to go to war with Iran. It is in the cards.

Based on your faulty premise, make up any answer you want. Were you to ask a real question, you'd probably have a good discussion of inter-sectarian distrust. But your premise only applies to groups like the Mahdi army, so we could only discuss how to deal with those groups. Growing up in Mississippi in the 50's and 60's, I learned it's not always wise to lump people into stereotypes and treat them as monolithic groups, and I'd suggest you try to check your right-wing tendencies for a better understanding of folks.

I agree with you. The answer is we cannot. Even if by some miracle we did "win" (and I use that term loosely because the massive loss of lives doesn't constitute a win in my eyes) they will eventually convert back to Dictatorship under a Sunni or Shiite leader.

WE CAN'T. Plain and simple. These people do not want our help, yet we sit there and get shot at day after day. For what?? So I can pay $2.00 a gallon for oil.

Well, at least if it's a Christian Theocracy, they'll just stone GLBT people and disobedient women and children.

    (sarcasm off)

Really, I don't think we can win.

we are not there to "win" anything we are there to protect the people from tyrannic rulers! i was in the service and my thought s are if they want us to leave we should leave but at the sam time not all of them want us to leave, many of them get so excited they cry when they see American soldiers. if we pull out all those that are vulnerable would perish. how can we let that happen?
