Do anti-war sentiments encourage the terrorists?

Does this make sense? Why or why not?

1) Radical Islamic terrorists want the US out of Iraq so they can impose an anti-US, wahabist Islamic government and persecute the Shiites.

2) The terrorists see that US deaths in Iraq are leading to a swell of anti-Bush, "US out" movements in the US.

3) They kill more Americans to speed the withdrawal.

If this makes sense, then do you think that anti-war protests (like a lot of the anti-war stuff you read on Y!A) indirectly leads to more Soldiers dying in Iraq? If not, where is my logic flawed?

Update:

I wonder about your logic. Look at it this way - you are running a political campaign, and you see that putting flyers in a neighborhood is starting to turn polls in that neighborhood toward your candidate. Do you put out more flyers?

You really think the terrorists don't see what's going on here in the US? Look up the military definition of terror - they do it to accomplish an goal. You think their goal is just to listen to the "Boom?" It's to get the US out of Iraq - do you really not see that? And just like with the flyers - if it starts to work, they'll do more of it.

And what's the proof that it's working? Just read your answers! Terrorists kill American Soldiers - and YOU want us out. Ipso facto - the terrorists accomplish their goals - with you as their pawns.

Pat yourselves on the back.

Update 2:

anoldmick, your answer makes no sense. Of course every Iraqi wants us out - heck I want us out. AFTER a moderate government is in place and the Iraqis can maintain the peace by themselves. The fact that every Iraqi wants us out EVENTUALLY does not mean that a majority would welcome the chaos that would exist if the US pulled out today.

Take it from somebody who has been there.

They have satelite tv. They have NileSat. They are not stupid individuals. They understand American politics to a certain extent and as time goes by they understand us more.

Meanwhile our politicians are argueing back and forth about the merits of us being in Iraq or not being in Iraq.

    What do you think?

I sat through many a briefing before going out on missions prior to us hitting 2500 killed in Iraq. During those briefings our analyst and intelligence reports indicated a steady rise in activity by anti-coalition forces. Part of their motivation as indicated by our intelligence resources came from them monitoring the way the American media reported almost "excitedly" about how we were approaching 2500 dead.

    Yea, it makes a difference.

An aside: We are in Iraq whether or not people like it. We will for many decades at some point or place in time of necessity have to battle militant islam in some form or fashion. To date the American populace has yet to accept this. Until we do the armed forces of the U.S. will be the ones whose lives are made more difficult in the meantime.

It is time to come to grips that there are people in the world who's ideology are ones that are not exactly predisposed to living with there neighbors in peace.

What you are seeing is nothing more than what has happened in the past occurring now in history's ebb and flow once again.

It is a type of religious facism this time around and not a racial or political facism as in the case of Nazi Germany or even Japan during that era.

The only difference fundamentaly this time around is whether the American and world populace will have to courage to stand up and be counted as ones who are willing to face this growing and expnding tide.

We finally have a plan that while not perfect does answer many of the elements which were the source of blocking progress.

It needs to be given a chance to work for the consequences really are truly dire if it does not. Our politicians are putting on a pathetic display of leadership(both Democrat and Republican) which is being watched on screen in a world about an 18 hour plane flight away.

Your logic isn't logic at all. (1)More than eighty percent of all Iraqis want Americans to get out, and that includes Sunnis, Shiites, Kurds and all other factions. How do I know? They were asked through a carefully-conducted poll run by people I know and trust. I'd rather do that than swallow neo-con propaganda without question. (2) Irrefutable evidence that the justifications for the invasion of Iraq is now known to the American public, and over seventy percent of us want the occupation ended RIGHT NOW because of the lies and because remaining there will resolve NOTHING! (3) Yes, they keep on fighting in hopes of driving the enemy out of their country - exactly as you would should some foreign nation invade ours! (4) I am a veteran, I have a son and a daughter in the United States Army, and I am a member of Veterans for Peace. You got a problem with that last? Too bad.

Yes, weakness in anything that breathes will cause a pack to attack it. If the US is seen as weak & quitting, then the terrorist will strength their attacks. We have had no attacks on our homeland since 9/11 but if we quit & force out troops home that will change. Quitting is weakness & terrorist live by the pack mentality.

In the last week have had had 5 Americans in helicopter crash put on ground & shot in back of head. It does not matter if they were soldiers or Black Water or if they were alive or dead (we do not know yet) as they were shot because they were Americans.

The attack on goverment building & 1 US soldier killed & 4 American soldiers kidnapped & 30 miles away shot in head.

These are new braver & more violent attacks. They smell fear & no backup from the homeland because of these news making "peace" marches.

Yes. It shows they are winning. During the Vietnam war the communists showed news film footage of protesters in the United States. It helped motivate them to continue the fight.

your logic is flawed in that you are begging the question- Number 1 is linked to Number three- in that it depends on it. The idea that they kill Americans to speed the withdrawal and not for any other reason is central to your argument, and prebiases your logic toward one outcome and relies on the conclusion to support the main statement.

by the way, the killing might have something to do with the fact that Bush Invaded against a legit government, no matter if we lied it or not, in an illegal action and killed their people. And that can be supported with facts at every step.

Since the VN war, all nations know our weakness. All of them know that our nation will divide, and the ultimate result is that we will run away. This is VN syndrome that we can never get rid of. These peace movement is a living example for what I said!

Acccording to the leaders yes. They have stated that they will win if the U.S. withdraws from Iraq and be able to spread their brand of hatred world wide.

It may show them that their strategy of killing Americans might be working, but I don't think that protests are responible for any American deaths in Iraq

Think of it as a football game. You play to win. The score is tied. Something happens to let you think you have a good chance of winning. Wouldn't it excite you and pump you up to make a large push?

We are at war with a group of unreasonable radicals. "United we stand, divided we fall," or "divide and conquer."

They see us fighting amongst ourselves. They see we are divided. It gets their juices flowing because they see themselves as winning.

I don't think so. It may show them that their strategy of killing Americans might be working, but I don't think that protests are responible for any American deaths in Iraq.
