Irritable bowel symptoms - can I feel it in my lower back?
I have irritable bowel and have been under extreme stress. Has anyone ever felt bowel spasms or "shivering" radiating to their back? It's a really weird feeling.

I have also been diagnosed with IBS. It is possible to feel spasms in your back. I have upper right quadrant pain and radiates to my back and I was told I had an impacted bowel that later became obstructed and required hospitalization. If your symptoms are getting worse I suggest you go see your doctor and be re-evaluated so that you don't have a more serious complication that can happen with IBS. Keep a journal of your symptoms and what you were doing before you had the pain. Medications can help relieve some of your symptoms . Good Luck I hope you feel better.

I have irritable bowel and get pain in my back but not with shivering. You might have a virus. As hard as it seems, getting out of stressful circumstances WILL improve your whole system.
