My ceiling fan shuts on and off by itself.?

It makes this weird noise not a popping noise just a click type noise and shuts off. Then it will make the same noise and turn back on. How can I fix this or should I just get a new one. Thank you

    I would get a new one... sounds like the motor is overheating, shutting down, cooling and starting up again. Fire just waiting to happen...

    It is probably getting hot. I think you need to get a new one for safety.

    check wires in fan housing & in switch on wall, loose wire.
