Christians?

I command in the name of Jesus (the Bible, right) $5,000,or any possession of yours worth $5000, who will show that they are true Christians? It is the Bible that allows me to demand such things, and your hypocrisy/lack of true love/faith for Jesus will show by refusing.

Look up Matthew 5:42 -"Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you."

Go ahead and dodge the question, but you and I still know: when it comes to sacrificing your lifestyle for some jerk on the internet, Jesus takes the back door for you! "Yes" or "No" are the only relevant answers here, the rest of you are not true Christians and can just be quiet. Thank you!

Update:

Don't forget to leave contact information slick ones!

Update 2:

I knew you all would duck out one way or another, I simply wanted you to realize your own hypocrisy yourself; though you won't admit it, and still convince yourself you're good Christians, you feel your hypocrisy as you weasel your way out of this which ever way you choose to.

Oh, and to the one that says I'm taking it out of context, its funny how you all can take so much of the Bible literally, but when it has something inconvenient written, you claim its out of context,or not literal. Choose what you're going to do, take the whole thing literally (which you should if its the word of God), or don't take any of it literally, thus negating the word of God element.

All of you proved to me that you're hypocrites; now, keep babbling, I'm sure the Jesus that said he would outlive Caiaphas is coming back soon! Wait...isn't Caiaphas dead already!?

Yes in this case Jesus would take the back door because it's not him making the request, it's man who is fulfilling it's greedy need, the true prophets of God don't try to fill their pockets and flash their jewelry, for the sake of personal safety we have to be careful of false prophets, even if he's claiming he has a direct line to Jesus, I'd still not give, I do have my private line to God so why should I pay someone else. I've given freely and heartily to someone in dire need, I rarely contribute to big foundations, I do have my own personal reasons for not giving to them. I've had people stop me on the street and when I can look in their eyes and see the dire need, then yes, I'll give.

You are so very wrong on this. Jesus is not saying that we should allow people to take advantage of us. You are obviously attempting to do just that, only slightly more crassly than some Nigerian Scam letter.

One must take the Bible, and any one passage of it, in light of the totality of the Scripture. we are also called upon to be deserning, love good, hate evil, stay away from those who would lead us atray, not mock God, and so forth. Thus, in light of all that, I would not give you $5000.

However, I do give very considerable amounts, way more than $5000 a year, to support soup kitchens, outreach missions to the homeless, help neighbors in need, send medical teams to disaster areas, and similar good works.

Is always amusing when people like you think unbelievers know the Bible better than believers.

Jesus also said its better to gouge out your eyes if they cause you to sin. Have you done so? One time he told a man to give up everything he had and then he would go to Heaven. Would you be willing to? Jesus called Peter Satan one time, is he? Jesus told us one time to get the plank out of our eye, is it possible for someone to have a wooden plank in their eye? Jesus said we need to eat him and drink him in order to have eternal life, did the disciples feast on his literal flesh? Now you see just how silly your assumption sounds to us.

Perhaps if you go through and actually read the NT as a whole instead of reading a dumb conclusion you saw on an atheist site, you would see such patterns in Jesus' speech that he hardly ever spoke literally. Many of Jesus' sayings have a hidden meaning from unbelievers such as yourself so you are not capable of knowing such truths without Gods holy spirit. Only he knows the deep truths af God and through him do we learn anything of God.

Jesus said keep your eye simple and your whole body will be bright. He also said to store up treasures in heaven not upon the earth where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal. Where did you come up with 5,ooo dollars or something of that value? There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving, but that doesn't mean giving you 5,ooo dollars. Jesus also said be cautious as serpents and innocent as doves. You have to be reasonable. Some Christian parents wouldn't give their kids 5,ooo dollars, but that doesn't make them bad Christians !!! We don't even know you. Pray to Jehovah God if you are really in need and he will help you if you are truly sincere. I wouldn't even ask Jehovah or Jesus for 5,ooo dollars.

    That's not being reasonable.

You are not reading this verse IN CONTEXT with the surrounding scripture- you are definately mis-interpreting it:

Verses 38-42 The law of retaliation (Ex. 21:24, Lev. 24:20, Deut 19:21) was not intended to encourage personal revenge, but to protect the offender from punishment harsher than his offense warranted. Jesus forbids revenge by insisting upon positive good in the face of evil in the terms of personal insult (verse 39), legal content (verse 40), forced labor (versed 41), and requests for gifts or loans (verse 42).

The bible also says a fool and his money are soon parted so the answer would be no.

edit: I answered your question. My answer was no. According to your own rules that would make me a true Christian. After reading your additional update I would have to ask you, who is the hypocrite? And by all means don't let the truth get in the way of your preconceived ideas.

I am only 15 so I don't have something worth $5,000. Sorry. Otherwise I would..no matter how much of a jerk you are being.

You can keep typing out all this Christian hating stuff but you will finally come to realize that we don't care what you think.

Don't worry because I will pray for you.

He means that you should give to people who are in need, and seeing as you are writing this question at a computer with an internet connection both of which are quite expensive then im guessing that you are not in need. I will give to people who actually need it but seeing as you don't, then sorry but no can do.
