Even if you have an x^y key, the quickest way to get the answer is to enter "2", then press the x^2 key five times. The number that will appear, in sequence, are: 2^2, 2^4, 2^8, 2^16, and 2^32.

If you have a scientific calculator, you should have a key that has either a ^ (sometimes followed by an x) or a key that has 2(little x on top right). If you don't have a scientific calculator, you can either type in 2 X 2 and push the equals key 32 times, or you can download GraphCalc at http://www.graphcalc.com/download.shtml

If you have a scientific calculator there is a key labelled y^x.
Enter 2,push that key,enter 32 and push = 4.2950*10^9

Enter 2, then find the key labeled y^x (y to the x power) hit that key, then hit 32 then hit =
If you don't have such a key, then just multiply 2 by itself 32 times: 2 * 2 * 2 * 2....

there should be a button like "x^y" where you enter the x value, press the x^y button and then enter the exponent value.
