Is Christianity harmed any by the discovery of Jesus Family Tomb?

This has got to be on every Christians mind who has heard about it, wondering what the World will do with this information, There have been wars fought on this subject. Christians would have to change their teachings, I am almost to feel it will be good for Christians as a hole because, there are so many seperate Churches maybe this would bring them together on a lot of the man made issues. I truly hope only good will come of it all.

Cameron is pandering to the public and his "find" will be proven to be just bad science:

The statistical analysis is not rigorous

The name "Jesus" was a popular name at that time, appearing in 98 other tombs and on 21 other ossuaries

There is no historical evidence that Jesus was ever married or had a child

The earliest followers of Jesus never called him, "Jesus, son of Joseph"

It's unlikely Joseph, who had died earlier in Galilee, would have been buried in Jerusalem

The Talipot tomb and ossuaries probably would have belonged to a rich family, which is not a historical match for Jesus

Fourth-century church historian Eusebius makes quite clear the body of James, brother of Jesus, was buried alone near the temple mount.

The two Mary ossuaries do not mention anyone from Migdal, but just Mary, a common name

By all ancient accounts, the tomb of Jesus was empty, making it unlikely that any body was moved, allowed to decay for a year, then be put into an ossuary.

Amos Kloner, the first archaeologist to examine the site, said the conclusions cannot be supported by the evidence – but it's a way to make money on television. He would have nothing to do with supporting the movie's assertions. "It's nonsense," he said.

James, the half-brother of Jesus and author of the book of James, the early leader of the church in Jerusalem, was martyred for his faith. Why does James make no mention in his letter that Jesus was not bodily resurrected? When he was about to die why didn't he just recant his beliefs and say, 'Okay, okay! My brother didn't rise from the dead. Here's where we took him. Here's where his bones are. Here's our family tomb. We made the whole thing up?' People will generally not die for a lie when they know it's a lie. Why would James die perpetuating a lie when it would have been so easy to disprove? In fact why would any of the apostles go to their deaths for something they knew to be false?

What the repercussions of this latest "discovery" will be are unclear to me in these early stages. I do have few thoughts though.

For one, it's almost impossible to determine whether this is THE Jesus or not. We can look for subtle hints to narrow it down to the spiritual Jesus, but we can never know for sure. For this reason there will always be enough doubt for at least a strong contingency of Christians to keep believing the same way.

There are, no doubt, those on the fringes of Christianity who will be ready to jump ship if this discovery turns out to be credible and true.

But all that being said, I think the jury is still out as to whether this stuff is legit. Personally, I'm going to reserve judgment until all the facts are out.

Well it does prove the early church wrong by suggesting that he had a family. Also, the claims that the tomb were emply are false. Ever think that was wishful thinking?

I think it puts a lot of scrutiny on the Bible, but only for those who thought it was the infallible word of God. For those who saw Jesus as a man who preached peace and acceptance, this doesn't change that.

The Christians who don't want to believe it, won't. They will say it's fake or that Satan put it there.

Well its not on my mind till someone ask about it..No,it want harm the people who have faith in god..How would anyone be able to prove that was Jesus or his son? No one has Jesus DNA.

Don't think Devenchi code.....Bunch of trash drug up to make movie for money....People are so silly..And even if it were to be proven, how could it effect our belief? When Jesus came out of that tomb on the 3ed day His soul was something that could travel past the physical. He could have left his bones there and still walked as a man..He was headed to heaven to be with his ( and my ) father. Do so many people have to get into this rot? Every doubt satin sends our way is just his hammer trying to knock the faith from our lives a little at a time...You people need to listen. You best wake up to....Sooner or later GOD is coming back...ARE YOU READY?

If this tomb is real, then according to Islam, the man in it would be Jesus' clone,as Jesus didn't die,he was raised to heaven, and will descend at the end of time.

Christianity is harmed more by Galileo's discovery of the earth orbiting the sun, Christians haven't learnt anything as the Bible still says the earth doesn't move.

Anyone who believes that this is the real Jesus Family Tomb must also be stupid enough to believe that the universe was created from a big bang that was caused by a miraculous random spark.

Cameron's discovery isn't true. I would never believe it. I feel he is only trying to get attention and make a distinctive name for himself like Dan Brown and Mel Gibson.

I wouldn't want to face God if I were Cameron.
