Do Employers really check to see if you have a High School Diploma?
I'm wondering if anyone knows if a potential employer could check to see if you really completed High School. Or, do they just take your word for it on your application?

As an employer, I check all references and facts on an application form.
You wouldn't believe how many people we catch lying on their applications. Even some that have fake references from people that never even knew them!
Although it is our policy to check factual information for accuracy, or references for credibility, there are many employers that don't because they need people right away.
It's usually best practice to be honest because you don't want to be found out later. It can lead to an embarassing situation that I'm sure you would have wished you had avoided.
Sometimes I've interviewed people that have answered questions that have put them in what they think is a negative light, but because they were honest with me, it establishes their credibility quickly. Then they explain their situation and why I shouldn't worry about the negative answer. This puts them in a better situation and they score higher points in their interview.
Bottom line - I wouldn't lie.

not only do they check, they also are calling and checking all the information you put down. A year ago I made a discrepancy of .25 cents on an application, for a job I had 5 years ago, and the new employer called me on it - I almost did not get the job. I even had to call the old employer to verify my wage ( I had been correct!! ) and have the new employer check back with them. I had another friend, spent 30 years lieing about a diploma and then lost a very large job promotion when it was found it. He got his GED at 45 - but it didnt matter, he already lost the job. Dont lie .. and get either a diploma or a GED - it DOES make a difference!! Hope that helps!

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://tinyurl.im/aH3QF
Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.
You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

The absolutely free reverse phone lookup sites generally provide the most basic of information such as name and it works only for landlines. To get further information, money will have to be paid. The free searches do not provide much more than what can be found through the phone book or personal knowledge and they only want your email to send spam.
Stay away from shady reverse phone lookup sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse phone lookup site like http://fullbackgroundcheck.info/everify-133.html that has been around since 1999.
If I recall correctly they have two options:
1. $19 and you get only one report.
2. $39 and you get unlimited reports. I went with this option because I wanted to verify more numbers. This is how I caught my girlfriend cheating, I got the name, other phone number, address history, relatives, and criminal-court records.

if you appear bright, properly dressed, and intelligent during the interview, there is about a 50/50 chance they ll put the effort into checking education, unless the position you re applying for requires perfect math, or grammar, etc. to be a priority. It s generally best to be honest, and offer to improve the areas that may not be up to par as soon as possible, most employer s, esp. if they need people right away, will make some exceptions to their rule if you are willing to improve yourself, and do everything you can to appear bright, positive, and intelligent during the interview.

I've never had one check. Especially if you tell them you have a year or two of college (short of Associates Degree). It can be a lie, they don't check that, either. I used it for a long time until I could afford to go to college.
