how do i convert fat, kilojoules to calories, and how many calories should i burn to lose weight?

    1 gram of fat is equal to 9 calories. 1 gram of carbs or 1 gram of protein equals 4 calories. It takes eating about 3,500 extra calories to gain a pound, or reducing your intake of that many to lose a pound. I think the current recommendation is to reduce your daily intake by 300 to 500 calories per day. That will result in the loss of 0.5 to 1 pound per week, which is the best way to lose and keep it off because you aren't doing some drastic change that you can't live with.

    Less in more out. Burn more with exercise and eat less and you will lose weight. It's pretty simple. Why complicate it by conversions, etc... If you're a girl, eat 1,200 calories a day and burn at least 300-400 with exercise. Your body uses and burns the rest as energy for functioning. If you eat 3,000 calories a day and don't exercise you will progressively become a giant fat ***...
