The bad go to hell? Maybe...??

BAD PEOPLE and a lot of VERY GOOD people end up going to hell. Not because of their works, but because they never accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. We are the only creatures that God created with a soul and a conscious. We all have a moral conscious, no matter what we are taught. We all have a responsibility to ask Christ into our lives, and repent of our sins. We may do things when we are young before we reach the age of accountability( this is a period when God deals with your heart,and you come to the knowledge of good and bad, not an actual age) and God won't judge us for these deeds. It is after this point, that God knows when you are and are not sinning against him intentionally. Once you reach this point in your life, if you do not accept Christ, you are not guaranteed that He will ever make your heart feel this way again.

There are places in the world today, where The Gospel hasn't reached, and in those areas where it hasn't, we as Christians will also be responsible for the blood of those who die in sin and go to hell. We should make every effort to spread the Gospel to everyone we meet. There are still many, many people here in the United States, that have not accepted Christ. Those people's blood will also be on our hands if we don't tell them of the Gospel.

Do you really think you could train someone to beat and murder people, if they were not inherently predisposed that way? You forget. People inherit genes from their parents also, not just training. Old Italian proverb " you can not make a race horse out of a pig, though you can make a very fast pig ". Most philosophers think that we have free will to the extent of thinking that if we do not want bad things to happen to us, then do no bad to others. Even many psychopaths can intellectualize this philosophy. If the person tried to use either environmental or genetic determinism as a defense, then the judge can use the self same reason against this person; thus convicting them. By the way, there is no evidence for such a place as hell. ( some people are exempted on certain grounds from rationality )

I think good people can and do go to hell. However we never know the condition of someones heart. Only God does. We have no right to even ponder the thought.

Someone my be "bad" but they may be trying to get back on track and get their heart straight.

I do think that your up bringing can have a lot to do with the person you turn out to be, but it does NOT determine your future. People make the decision to live right all the time:)

There's no such thing as a future hell that awaits us. However, I think that some people are living in a type of hell as it is right now on Earth.

Hell as punishment is an old way of thinking about God, it's an unevolved, simplistic view of God.

Of course many humans are in this state of mind where they see God as a punisher.

And guess what? Most people don't think they're going to hell.

Personally, I think that someone who was incapable of breaking out of the cycles of violence will just come back for another life where they'll get another chance. I think people keep living in human form until they finally break their patterns, then they finally get to die in peace one last time.

This would actually be better asked under "Religion," I think. It's a very different subject than Psychology, and this question is more religion-based.

To answer the question (from a Religion standpoint), I personally believe that there is a lot more to us than what we can see, and that God sees it all.

I realize that this isn't an answer, per se, but I've come to accept the fact that, when it comes to religion, there is a lot that we don't understand. I just don't know. And I'm ok with that.

like you we all have the brain to think.

We decide to be good or bad.

we can let our background pull us down or we can change it.

when we are young and don't have a choice is one thing but we can not go the rest of our lives blaming the world around us for our problems. it is very clear that if we do not try to follow the teachings in the Bible we are going to have a very difficult time getting into heaven. Now God and each of us individually are the only ones who know where we are going. to a believer the worst that can happened is not to be able to see the face of our God when the time comes. and that will be HELL

jeffrey dahmer was raised in a good family and they didn't abuse him, and he turned out to be a serial killer. a sellect few were beaten, made to do unspeakable things and starved, and i've read or heard of these people turning lives around. when we get older we also get wiser and know right from wrong, whether or not we chose to do right or wrong depends on us, we make our own decisions when we are of age or escape the madness, if we then kill or abuse and don't try to get help we have only ourselves to blame.

I personally don't care how a person is brought up, there comes a time when we learn right from wrong. Once we learn that, then we become accountable for our actions.

Everyone is born with a conscience. Bad training does not exonerate you from personal responsibility as an adult!

If the bad doesnt ask the Lord Jesus into his heart, then yes he'll go to hell. If the good does not ask the Lord Jesus into his heart he still go's to hell. No matter how good or evil you are you still go to he'll if you dont ask Jesus into your heart.
