Of course, are you going to send your baby to jail for being illegal

You can give the child anyone's last name. When you do do this though, remember, even with a paternity test proving other ways, the father on the certificate is responsible for the baby.

The baby should always take the name of the father, even if you are not married, and even if you are not together. The baby deserves the name of the father, even if the father is a piece of sh** to you. To your little one, the father is Daddy.

I'm not totally sure that I understand. But you can name your child anything that you want, first middle and last name. You could pick a last name at random from the phone book and give it to your child and it would be perfectly legal.

Yes, as long as the unmarried father is on the birth certificate.

All Children are "legal" now so it does not matter what name the child has for its surname. There is not longer the stigma of illegitimacy on babies born out of wedlock.

"legal"? You can give your child any name you want- first middle and last. You don't need to carry on a name.
