My fiancee doesn't want me to have oxtails at our wedding.?
I don't eat pork or many other types of meat. I really only eat shrimp, oxtails and chicken. She doesn't want to go to the reception if I have someone cater oxtails and rice. She is worried about people with messy hands. I say who cares it's their hands. Is she overreacting? Should the food appeal to the guest only? We are paying for it after all.

This is supposed to be your big day as well and it is about time she knew that. Talk to her and come to a compromise. you can order for fish or something. You are the one paying for the food. so I don't see why yo cannot get what you want. Seriously though what is wrong with oxtail? they are brilliant

Wow. That is just crazy honestly i'm not tryin to start any trouble between the 2 of you but that is crazy.I agree with you 100%
Anyway what matters is that the bride, groom, family & guest are happy and full.I would like to recommend a solution for the 2 of you.
You can send out mail/online survey. You can make a myspace/yahoo 360 page. page and do a online survey for your guest re: the food. Go to blog. OR
There can be wet naps/babywipes at every plate or every 3 plates or 1 at every table or one that is on a stand so people can walk over and take a wet nap to clean their hands after. However guess what? There should be wet naps anyway. So if you haven't added them to your list you should believe me. Much better than napkins. Unless u picking up a spill hehe.
Good Luck.
Seafood,Oxtails are my favorite.

If I attend your reception and the only thing to eat is oxtails and rice, then I will leave and go get McDonalds. I don't care if it's your favorite food. You like it, then you eat it, but don't force your preferances on me.
I, of course, am not attending your reception. But you'll be surprised at how many of your guests think just like me. And you (and especially your bride) will be dismayed at how rapidly people leave your reception because they're hungry.

Other guests will presumably be wearing fancy clothing, not just you. Most of them will be able to eat without getting something on themselves, as long as good napkins are provided, but I guarantee someone will be upset about getting food on themselves.
You'll probably be too excited to remember much of what you eat. The guests will remember though, so make sure there is food that appeals to everyone. Are there going to be children at the reception? Is there anything easy for them to eat?

This is his fiancee, and I dont think it is classy to watch people at wedding eatting oxtails, which can be messy and I hate to see people sucking juices out the bones. My dress is not cheap and I do not want to have it stained at all. I dont want him staining his suit either. You can go without oxtails for one day.

Just remember, the bride is going to worry because she is going to be wearing a rather expensive dress, that costs a lot to clean. So chances are she is worried that someone will get the messy stuff on her dress....leave the oxtails out...

that is the worst wedding food i have ever heard of. Do chicken and shrimp you dink. Nobody wants to eat oxtails at a wedding.

Get what ever you want.
You paying for it and it is your day.
all of your guests going to say AHHH- OHHH wish you happy long life together and give you gift. For that they want good time and good food. And FOOD going to be at the end RIGHT? So what is the deal if dress get dirty who cares you are not going to Church again. Too bad you spend so much money on that dress but turf is "it is one day dress" so make it DIRTY, BURN it, HANG it on your ruff at the end who cares. Just an joy your day. Have fun.

I choose Linda's side.
When you host a dinner party at your home do you think of what everyone likes to eat or just yourself? Chances are you would want all of your guests to be happy while they sit at your dinner table, why would your wedding be ay different.

Well chicken is a winner with almost everyone. I would go with the chicken. And yeah you are paying for everything...but do you want people to talk about how bad the food was or do you want them to remember how beautiful your soon to be wife looked and how cute you are together. Something to think about.
