Two female cats who HATE each other. It's been three months...?

And I love them both to death. I first adopted my first cat, Anju, when she was 10 months old. She's now a year and a half. Then before I moved to my own apartment, she ran away... I had given up, so about two months later I adopted another kitty, Anabella who's two years old.

She's a sweetheart, and she supposedly gets along with cats wonderfully. But not with Anju. :(

She eventually appeared about half a month after I adopted Anabella, but they hate their guts. Each time they see each other, they hiss at each other, they fight, they chase each other around my apartment which isn't big at ALL.

I was told to introduce them gradually and keep them separated when I'm not around, but no improvement. I hate to have them locked in a tiny litlte bedroom, too. They still fight, there's loose fur from their fights everywhere, and when they're fighting they'll even hiss at ME.

I'm really becoming hopeless. Anju has never gotten along with another cat, so that's a big factor probably. HELP?

Cats have personality clashes with other cats, the same as people do. You say Anabella gets along with other cats but not Anju....then you say Anju has never gotten along with another cat...do the math. You also say you love them both. If you love them both, then find one of them a new home or take one to a non-kill shelter so it can find a home where it will be happy. You are not being fair to either one. Some cats are one-cat household cats and Anju sounds one. I'd do something right away or you are going to end up with vet bills and 2 neurotic cats.

As another said - Anabella gets on with other cats but Anju doesn't. You will have to decide which one you want to keep, because you will have to re-home one of them. Sorry about that.

As for female cats not getting one - that is a lot of rubbish. I have four cats - three are female and they get on. Also if females dont get on, it is obvious the cats at the cattery haven't read the book saying that. The cats are let out of their cages in the morning and are given the option to roam and play through the whole cattery and the outside play area.

Most are desexed, only a couple (at the moment) haven't visited the vet as yet.

It is a personality thing, so as I said, you will have to rehome one of them. If you got Anabella from a refuge, take her back there and tell them why, she will be rehomed from there.

I have two female cats that are "supposed" to be sisters. I say "supposed" to be, because we went through the whole adoption process with the Tierschutzverein (Kinda like the American ASPCA) and they ensured us that they were sisters.

They HATE each other. They are going on 3 years old now and refuse to associate with one another. They eat at seperate times, the sleep at seperate ends of the sofa, and if they do "interact" in any way, it's a hiss and some growling.

Just let them co-exsist as much as they are willing to. Unless they start causing damage or hurting one another bad enough to require a trip to the vet, then they will be alright.

Cats are die-annoying of their acceptance of the different - properly, a number of them are. the only methods I even have stumbled directly to artwork with cats is for them to be compelled to share area for a whilst (numerous weeks) or basically the different - to each have their very own territory. the only reason i could ever get a cat declawed is that if a cat assaults a human infant. one among my 4 cats did that - attacked my 6 month previous grandson out of jealously, slashing his face. It replace into the two come across a sparkling abode for the cat or have the front claws bumped off. We chosen the later. We basically can't enable her exterior anymore that's extra powerful for her besides. They get alongside great now, 4 years later. besides, you'll be able to might desire to discover a sparkling loving abode for a million of the cats so the female won't go through those assaults. i wish you'll be able to artwork during the subject concerns previously one cat gets harm badly. good success!!.

We have two girl cats that don't get along either, they won't go near each other and if they do, they hiss. They know they have to live together but they still don't get along, they stick to their own areas. If they get too close to each other they will fight but just briefly and then separate. If they can coexist like this then I would just let them be. I hope that it gets a little better so that you can keep them both. Did you try asking a Vet about it ? they might have more ideas. Good luck.

Are they both spayed? Cats are much quieter when they are.

They are also jealous creatures, every one wants the full attention, just like us. Do not let them fight, if they do, punish them both. They should know that the fight is not allowed.

Eventually they will get used to each other....when they get older.

If one or both of them are NOT spayed, they will more than likely continue to fight, especially while one or both is in heat.
