Yes you are wrong. What we need is to have our laws enforced. When law abiding citizens no longer have guns, only the criminals will have guns. We are too soft on criminals in this country and most laws now just protect the criminal because they were drawn up by criminals, lawyers, and politicians, which is really the same. As a republic we have a right to own guns. Should we all go back to walking because cars kill?

Are you wrong? The simple answer is a resounding YES!
The more apt question would have to be what good would it
have done.
Let us suppose for the moment that gun ownership is out of
question, it is illegal. What do you suppose this gunman
would have done. Don't tax your brain to much, I'll tell you:
He simply would have gone to the closest medium sized
city and purchased the weapons on almost any street
corner, and then went about his business,
I, for example, live in a medium sized city, and if I decided
that an unregistered gun was necessary, I need only go
a block from my home to find.
Be thankful that I am a law abiding citizen.

You are wrong to ask us are you wrong. We don't know you, and most of us are so radical, we will just stuff your face with our agressive opinions without thinking about it.
If you are the same guy who asked this question about abortion, I'd say, you are not just a conservative with some liberal thought, but you are turning to liberal ideology as a whole.
Please take my advice, and just decide for yourself, no one can give you a good response here.
And meathook is entirley wrong, the US has by far, the highest rates of violent crime, especially gun murder- see unfactual statistics, you can't expect a good answer.

I think you're overreacting to current events and mind you, the following is written by a socialist liberal.
The gun is a necessary tool of society and this incident at Virginia Tech validates why we need guns. Its because there are psychos out there who will think of nothing at shooting up schools and at children that we need guns so we can protect ourselves when the police can't get to us in time to protect us as they should.
Will we need armed guards outside and within every organization? No. Do we need stronger regulations regarding background checks? Probably not. Do we need to enforce the gun control laws we have better? Maybe.
What we need are long-term social changes that will allow for better social awareness and a willingness to help society. Too often are we herded into looking out only for ourselves and not searching for that community. We are too involved with low paying careers that don't allow us time to be with our children and look for these problems ahead of time. We are herded into specific neighborhoods by property values and we need to break free of social-economic constraints that might allow us to make friends with people outside our own economic cultures.
If anything, Virginia Tech has taught us that we can't afford to be engulfed by the economically or socially driven objective moralities that separate us from other people within our own society. We need to be better than this. We need to regain the courage to be a better society for the benefit of everyone within the society.

Yes you are 100% wrong. Look at crime statistics in countries where there is gun control. England and Australia have much higher rates of violent crime per 1000 citizens than the US and even peaceful, pot friendly Canada has higher rates of violent crime.
Source(s): Just a guess here but Edward M and Busty Jenny are the same person. - BunzLv 51 decade ago
There you go again stating in your questions that you are a conservative but are coming around to the liberal idea! My guess is that you are a liberal troll looking to embolden your fellow liberals into thinking people are really catching onto your liberal values!
YES YOU ARE WRONG!
So stop posing as a conservative, it makes you look stupid

To me gun control means just that, CONTROL. I am not so ignorant to believe that we will ever be able to completely eradicate the firearm, however I would like to make it much much harder for innappropriate people to obtain them. A mental health certificate would partially accomplish this. We know that felons cannot obtain them, but I want to stop the FIRST aggression that causes these felons to be.

Before making any rash deicisons? Please check a Question, that I posted earlier? It was called, "Gun Control; from the ground up". [Polls & Surveys] It may help you to see things. Without changing your loyalties.

tell me what GUN CONTROL LAW would have prevented this from happening. I do not believe that you are a conservative if you to blame the gun and not the person that did the act. The gun was only a tool. if he could not have gotten the gun another tool would have been used.

no its your opinion. i dont really fancy gun control, but i think its over the top to have students bring guns to school didnt they try to prevent that in high schools with metal detectors? something just aint right and it needs more thought and planning then what we are coming up with now
