Childless Marriage?

That is insane. There are enough people in this world already no one should be forced to have children or feel pressured to do so by anyone, including a spouse.

From the sound of your question, you still want to have a child. Your bf doesn't. There is a large difference in ages and that is probably the main reason for your different views. As a mother I can tell you that children make a huge difference in your life. They are wonderful. If you even think there is a 10% chance that you still want a child, you need to inform the bf. He can make up his mind whether it is best for you to separate or if he is willing to have another. Don't miss out on this wonderful even in a woman's life. You will always be sorry you chose to not have a child. I have known couple who had no children. They are loving couples who just live a different kind of life from those who do have children. Some have no children because they couldn't and some by choice. The point is that many childless couples really wish they had children.

I think it's unconstitutional. Marriage isn't for the sole purpose of procreation and no one can force a couple to have children if they choose not to...I'm willing to bet this law gets turned down and if not, you can expect an exodus of married people who don't want children from Washington state.

I doubt very much that any law like that would be possible. People have a right to decide if they want children or not. A lot of people can not even have children but that does not mean they do not have the right to have a marriage.

We need more childless marriages! There are enough bratty, annoying, loudass kids running around as it is. How ridiculous to even think of making people have them. Some people dont deserve kids.

I think it's yet another way the government is trying to get into our personal lives, when they should stay the h**l out of it.

As long as we aren't breaking any laws or hurting anyone (especially children), what we do behind our closed doors is our business.

I think the people sponsoring the bill are trying to make a point. Orderly procreation is not the only reason for marriage!

This is in response to the idea of marriage is to procreate and by not having children in 3 years shows they are not going to procreate. This is to give credibility to gay marriages since they do not procreate.

hey, if you read the whole article you would see it is just a tactic for the gay lobbyists to get the government to reconsider its position on gay marriage. I say people in love should be able to get married regardless of sex.

I understand their point about wanting people to think about what constitutes a marriage. I don't think their true purpose is to actually institute the measure but to get people to think. Getting people to think is a good thing, so few people actually do.

They are only trying to prove a point. Sometimes you have to resort to ridiculous measures to do it.
