Anyone have any thoughts?

Question

I want to have a school opened for teen parents. This school will provide daycare and on one teaching with students of any age and race. Did you know about 65% of teen mother who get pregnant whilr attending school do not return to school because of the harsh things they are called. No the school I would Like to open would Be for teen parents. I want these parents to come form broken homes and even normal everyday homes just to prove that not only girls get pregnant that come from broken homes. I do not and will not encrouge teens to run out and get pregnant. This school is my dream I got pregnant at 17 and Now am almost twenty and have a 1 year old daughter. Do you think this Is a good Idea?

I am in cincinnati ohio there are no schools here like that there are churches willing to help but no schools. I have spoken at many press confrences about this and wrote in my local news paper

I do actually think it's a good idea.  I have some issues with the idea of daycare on campus of public schools, mainly because that would be a financial drain on an already overbudgeted venue.  

If you were to do it, I think it would be a good idea to have a parenting class be a part of the cirriculum, and I think it would be a good idea for you to have a close working relationship with the county health department, WIC, and other government, private or religious agencies that offer help to people who need it (housing, medical care, food stamps, etc.)

I also think that having a close working relationship with trade schools, cosmotology schools, and those kinds of institutions would be a good idea, since a high school diploma is good, but being qualified in a specific trade is often the key to more earning potential.

Sounds like a good idea but its gonna be hard to get it started. I also got pregnant at 17. I managed to finish school because of the help of my mom and the help from my teachers. But not all teens are that lucky to have the support that I did. If its something that you can get going, i think its a great idea.

I'd say to start with some research about your community, teen pregnancy & dropout rates, and then take that to your school board.  Even if it wasn't a totally separate building, it could be housed inside of an existing school, on its own floor with daycare & mother/child dining room, rocking chairs, nursing corner, etc.  In our city, the moms get a lot of extra support from county healthcare workers -- well baby checks, parenting classes, even legal help with child support.

i think this would be a great idea. i am 14 and pregnant and i would love that idea. you should write a paper that describest he whole thing, with every detail that you can think of about the school that would make people want it to happen. then, get at least 1,000 handwritten signatures and send it to the gov't so they can approve or tell you that you need more signatures, or something. just let them consider it, who knows, it could show up in this years election! best of luck to you, and i hope they fund you the money, i will def attend! god bless!

Good Idea but there is help for pregnant moms. Im 22 and I know all kinds of girls in school that are pregnant and no one teases them. Theres more now than there were when I was in high school.
